Airport pick up

You will be picked from the airport and driven to your hotel. If you arrived on an early flight, we will get you lunch and do some site seeing in Nairobi. We may visit the Nairobi National Museum, which is always a good introduction to the country. Later you can have dinner in one of Nairobis restaurant.

Day 2

Drive to masai mara

Drive to masai mara

Check out after breakfast and depart for the Mara. Stopover and Lunch in Narok town. Approximately 6 hours travel time. Our camp will be set up in a secluded wooded area along the banks of the Mara River in the northern part of the reserve. Our Staff will have already set up camp by the time we arrive. There will be an evening game drive depending on the time we get to camp. You will also get to meet James Naabala, our local Maasai guide with many years experience guiding in the Mara. He will be your resource person for the duration of your stay.

Day 3

Masai mara

Masai mara

Morning and evening game drives. Elephants and Maasai giraffe are common. If you’re lucky you might see a leopard or black rhino. The Mara has Kenya’s largest population of lions with prides numbering over 20 individuals. The open country is also ideal for cheetahs, hyenas, hunting dogs and jackals. You will also have an opportunity to accompany James for a visit to a maasai homestead or Boma for a closer interaction with the local people.

Day 4

Day 5

Drive to Nakuru

Drive to Nakuru

After breakfast we will break camp and say good bye to Masai mara and leave for lake Nakuru with a lunch break in Narok. Lake Nakuru is one of the most famous lakes in Kenya, located within the Great Rift Valley. It is part of Lake Nakuru National Park, which is renowned for its stunning landscapes and diverse wildlife. The National Park is home to a variety of wildlife, including black and white rhinos, lions, leopards, buffaloes, and a range of antelope species. The park also offers opportunities for bird watching, with over 400 bird species recorded. We will spend one night here and do evening and morning game drives. Your camp will be set up close to the seasonal Makalia falls.

Day 6

Naivasha

After breakfast in Lake Nakuru we will break camp and do a morning game drive as we leave the park. The day's destination is Fish Eagle Campsite located on the shores of Lake Naivasha. This campsite offers opportunities for various outdoor activities, including bird watching, boat rides on the lake, and visits to nearby attractions such as Hell's Gate National Park. Lake Naivasha is a stunning freshwater lake surrounded by picturesque landscapes and rich wildlife, making it a popular destination for safaris and eco-tourism.

Day 7

Hells gate

Hells gate

On this day after breakfast we will leave camp and head to Hell's Gate National Park which is a unique and stunning park located near Lake Naivasha. It was established in 1984 and is notable for its dramatic scenery, including deep ravines, towering cliffs, and geothermal activity. The park is named after a narrow break in the cliffs that resembles a gate, which early explorers referred to as "Hell's Gate." Unlike many other parks in Kenya, visitors can explore the park on foot or by bicycle, allowing for a more intimate experience with nature. Here we will hopefully spot buffalo, zebra, giraffe, and various bird species during our exploration. The hike will end at the geothermal spa where we will take a swim and enjoy some lunch before taking a ride back to fish eagles camp.

Naromoru

Naromoru

This day we will break camp after break fast and we will drive to Naromoru town located at the foot of mount Kenya. The town serves as a gateway for tourists looking to explore the mountain, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a popular destination for hiking and outdoor activities. This will be a layover spot and we can have our laundry done and take time to relax.

Day 9

Nanyuki

Nanyuki

After a late breakfast we will leave for Nanyuki town which is located about 23 km From Naromoru. We will visit the equator, visit the local market as well as resupply on items you may require on the trip. Later on we will have lunch at the trout tree restaurant.

Day 10

Drive to Samburu

Drive to Samburu

You depart after breakfast heading north through the towns of Nanyuki and Isiolo to Archer's post on the banks of Ewaso Nyiro river. It is a three hour drive, arriving there early afternoon just in time for a game drive. Our campsite is located in a grove of fig trees close to the Ewaso Nyiro river.

Samburu

The Samburu and Buffalo Springs National Reserves are situated in an arid and semi-arid environment and the days can be quite hot while the nights can be cool. The practice is to go on early morning and late afternoon game drives to catch the animals when they are at their most active. Several large dry-country mammal species common to Kenya’s northern plains can be found here. These include Gerenuk, Grevy’s zebra, oryx and reticulated giraffe. There is an abundance of birdlife here with over 450 species having been identified. The reserve is also home to elephants, buffalo and all three of Africa’s large cats, lions, leopards and cheetahs.

Day 12

After our morning game drive and breakfast, we will leave Samburu national reserve for Naromoru with a stop over in Nanyuki for some lunch. Here we will rest as we await for the last leg of the trip. In the evening we will head out for a a short hike along the Naro Moru river.

Day 13

Drive to Amboseli

Drive to Amboseli

After a very early breakfast we will for Amboseli National park located in southern Kenya, near the border with Tanzania. It is situated approximately 240 kilometers (about 149 miles) southeast of Nairobi, the capital city of Kenya. The drive from Naro Moru takes about 7hrs with a stopover in Emali town for lunch. The park is known for its stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro, abundant wildlife, and large herds of elephants. It's a popular destination for safari enthusiasts and nature lovers.

On this day we will do both morning and late afternoon game drives. Amboseli is famous for its large elephant herds. You'll also have the chance to see lions, cheetahs, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, and numerous bird species. The park is an excellent place for photographers, especially with the stunning backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro.

After breakfast and an early morning game drive we will pack our bags, break camp and drive to Emali town. Here you will be dropped off at the train station. Traveling on the SGR (Standard Gauge Railway) in Kenya is quite an experience, blending modern transportation with scenic views and cultural interactions.
