Pick up from Nairobi and drive to Aberdare National Park

Beyond, an amazing day awaits you.

You will be picked up from your hotel/airport and leave for Aberdare National Park to arrive in good time for lunch and rest. In the afternoon, enjoy close range game drive at from your balcony at the lodge. The Ark lodge offers high altitude game viewing, including animals that are rarely encountered elsewhere: giant forest hog, bush pig, tree hyrax, large spotted genet, and the elusive bongo.

Wildlife can be observed from the balcony or inside your rooms where you can see, hear and smell the nature at its best. You can put in a request to be awakened during the night if your favorite animals show up. A herd of Elephants might be just feet away and if you are lucky, a Leopard or Lion might put in an appearance. Aberdare National Park was established in 1950 to conserve and protect the Aberdare Mountains. Since then it has grown to a size of an area of 767 km2.

Onward Journey from Aberdare National Park to Lake Nakuru National Park

This will be you day two for this safari. You'll have breakfast and a shuttle transfer to Aberdare Country Club. You'll rejoin your driver-guide and depart for the Rift Valley arriving for lunch at a Lodge in Lake Nakuru National Park. You'll have a late afternoon of wildlife viewing and bird watching.

The lake's abundance of algae used to attract a vast quantity of flamingos that famously lined the shore. Other birds also flourish in the area, as do warthogs, baboons, and large mammals. Eastern black rhinos and southern white rhinos have also been introduced. Lake Nakuru is a shallow soda lake with many flamingos. It is also a rhino sanctuary. You'll embark on a game drive which includes viewing flamingoes from close range. About 10,000 years ago, Lake Nakuru, together with neighboring Lake Elementaita and Lake Naivasha (60 km further south), formed one single, freshwater lake that eventually dried up, leaving the three lakes as remnants.
