Day 1

From Nairobi, embark on a drive northwards heading to the Aberdares Country Club. You are driven through the industrial town of Thika and past intensely cultivated farms of the central Kikuyu highlands dotted with coffee, tea and a variety of food crops. We take a scheduled break for bathroom and refreshments before proceeding on to the Aberdares Country club, a majestic haven on the hills, formerly the home of an English couple half a century ago and now serving as the base hotel for the Ark.
Relax at the Club and attend to lunch served from 12:30 hrs. Shortly afterwards at 1500 hrs you are transferred with other guests in a lodge shuttle to the legendary Ark, a magnificent and famous tree hotel nestled in the heart of the Aberdares forest resembling the Noah’s Ark. Spend your afternoon, evening and part of the night watching wildlife from the comfort of your deck overlooking a large floodlit waterhole where wildlife come by for a drink and a saltlick. Dinner and overnight at the Ark.

Day 2

Aberdare to Samburu National Reserve

Aberdare to Samburu National Reserve

After a sumptuous breakfast at the Ark, you are transferred back to base hotel; the Aberdare Country Club to connect with your guide and proceed to the Samburu game reserve. We shall be passing through a scenic countryside enjoying superb views of Mount Kenya. A short stop is scheduled at the Equator for a brief gravitational experiment conducted by the local folks to determine the accuracy of the Equator line. Later proceed on to Samburu arriving in good time for Lunch.
Samburu reserve is a beautiful expanse comprising a semi- arid countryside of dry grasslands, thorn trees, acacia bushes and a riverine forest vegetation. It has its own special Big 5;- this includes the Grevy’s Zebra, Somali Ostrich, Reticulated Giraffe, Gerenuk and the Beisa Oryx, they are also referred to as the “Samburu Special”. In a nutshell Samburu hosts 75 diverse animal and 450 bird species. We embark on an afternoon game drive until sunset when we return to our lodge for dinner and overnight.

Full day in Samburu Reserve with the option of morning and an afternoon game drives. Your guide could also recommend an early departure with picnic breakfast, returning to the lodge by mid-morning to avoid the noon scorching sun when most animals seek shelter in the shade. This day will enable you to track some of the animals that are only adapted to this region, you will be thrilled at the sight of the “special 5” in a fiercely beautiful habitat of stunning landscapes dotted with semi-arid bush shrubs, dry savannah woodland and tall African wild palms lining the Ewaso Ngiro riverine. This is the rugged paradise off the beaten track. Sample 3 of Africa’s big Cats, countless herbivores and watch an array of birdlife while witnessing the best magical sunsets on the horizons.
During the midmorning, opt to visit the colourful samburu nomadic people for a presentation of their rich culture and history. Dinner and overnight in Samburu.

Wake up to the sounds of nature, its yet another day in the wilderness, start off with an early morning sunrise game drive exploring Olpejeta's rich wildlife wonders while capturing clear views of Mt Kenya. Return to camp by 8:00am for breakfast and shortly depart for Lake Nakuru National Park set strategically on the floor of the Great Rift Valley.
Enjoy a scenic drive that captures diverse landscapes, take a scheduled stop to enjoy superb panoramic views of the Great escarpment at the Subukia Gorge. Arrive at Lake Nakuru and immediately embark on a game drive. Our Picnic lunch will be served at a convenient location within the park. Lake Nakuru is famous for its large population of flamingos, as well as other 450 bird species. Lions, Leopard, Hyenas are the main predators while Rhinos, Buffalos, Zebra, Rothschild's Giraffe, Water bucks and Impalas are the main herbivores. Study a number of Babboons, Vervet and colobus monkeys. Head out to your camp for check in dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, depart by road for the world famous Masai Mara game reserve driving through outstanding landscape dotted with rural villages and farmlands. On arrival, check-in at your camp and proceed on to enjoy your set buffet lunch. After a brief breather of relaxation, an afternoon game drive commences in this sprawling, yet natural and untamed wilderness reserve. You are in the big game country with endless opportunities of encountering the Big Five of Africa. Discover an amazing number of Lions, cheetahs and luckily spot the shy and elusive Leopard. Look out for countless other herbivores roaming freely and watch a number of beautiful birds flying; all in great abundance on an endless strectch of a glorious savannah grassland. You have a full day in Masai Mara opting for early morning and afternoon game drives or spend an entire day exploring the Mara reserve. Breakfast in Masai mara is served from 6:30am followed by our 9:30am departure for Nairobi. We shall have an exciting drive passing through the Great Rift valley while enjoying great scenery and beautiful landmarks including Suswa and Longonot mountains. A brief stop for lunch and bathrooms is scheduled in Narok or Mai Mahiu towns. We shall then proceed on to reach our Nairobi hotel or head straight to the Airport arriving before sunset.
This marks the end of our 8 days Safari serenity classical bush exploration full of sheer excitement and cherished memories.
