In the morning, your guide and mountain crew will pick you up from your accommodation and drive you to Londorossi Gate (2,389m) at Kilimanjaro's western base. After registration and permits, you’ll begin a 6 km trek to Mti Mkubwa Camp (2,785m). The 3–4 hour hike takes you through a lush rainforest with towering trees, exotic birds, and perhaps the calls of monkeys echoing through the canopy. Rain showers are common here, so rain gear is recommended. The shaded trail is alive with Kilimanjaro’s rich biodiversity, offering a unique immersion in nature. Departing from Shira 1 Camp (3,504m), you'll set off on a light trek toward Shira 2 Camp (3,895m), a manageable and scenic journey. Along the way, you’ll be treated to panoramic views of Tanzania's rugged beauty and Kilimanjaro’s unique flora, a perfect fusion of high-altitude plant life and sweeping landscapes. Shira 2 Camp offers some of the best views of Mount Meru, Africa’s fifth-highest peak, standing proud in the distance—perfect for those iconic photos to make your friends envious.

This day’s trek involves several ascents and descents, leading you to the scenic Barranco Camp (3,895m). In the morning, you’ll start with a gentle ascent, leaving the moorland behind as you head towards the towering Lava Tower (4,650m). After an early wakeup and breakfast, you’ll set out to conquer the Barranco Wall, with an early departure recommended to avoid crowds. This steep yet brief climb is exhilarating and leads to an undulating trail along the southeastern flank of Kibo, offering stunning views of the southern ice fields. The trek to Karanga Camp (3,986m) involves several ascents and descents, but our experienced guides will maintain an optimal pace for the group. Covering 5.2 km, this trek takes approximately 4 to 5 hours.

Upon reaching Karanga Camp, you’ll enjoy a hot lunch and have time to rest and recharge. After a few hours, an acclimatization hike toward Barafu Camp will follow, featuring a 200m altitude gain. This short trek is crucial for helping your body adjust to the elevation before descending back to camp for dinner and a well-deserved overnight rest. Once you've regained your strength, you'll embark on a short acclimatization hike to help your body adjust to the altitude. This important step aids in preparing you for the challenges of the summit night. Afterward, you'll return to Barafu Camp for a warm dinner and some well-deserved rest. You will depart Barafu Camp (4,662m) around midnight to begin your overnight trek to Uhuru Peak (5,895m). While the climb itself is technically straightforward, the high altitude and cold temperatures present significant challenges. Our experienced guides will be there to support you every step of the way, ensuring your safety and well-being throughout the ascent.

Upon reaching the summit, you'll experience the breathtaking views and sense of accomplishment that come with standing on Africa's highest peak. After celebrating your achievement, you’ll descend back to Barafu Camp for a brief rest before continuing your trek toward Millennium Camp (3,820m).

It's important to note that 90% of mountain injuries occur during descent, often due to fatigue. Therefore, take your time and remain vigilant as you navigate the trail. This final descent will take approximately 4 to 6 hours and cover a distance of 12 km, allowing you to reflect on your journey as you traverse lush rainforests and scenic landscapes.

As you arrive at Mweka Gate, you will be greeted with official certificates recognizing your accomplishment of summiting Mt. Kilimanjaro, the highest point in Africa and the largest free-standing mountain in the world. This is a moment to celebrate your hard work and dedication. After the ceremony, everyone will load into the bus for the return trip to your accommodation.
