Day 1

Nairobi - Masai Mara National Reserve

Depart Nairobi at 0800hrs and drive North down the escarpment of the Great Rift Valley. We take a brief stop at Viewpoint for a few camera shots of this amazing natural phenomenon. Then drive through the Great Rift Valley, the dramatic landscape and the plains inhabited by the Maasai pastoralists and across the ‘bread basket’ of Kenya covered with acres of wheat and barley arriving for a brief stop at Narok town for refuelling and then climb the western wall entering Hemingway’s country; “Serengeti Plains” arriving in time for lunch at the Camp/Lodge.

At 4pm proceed for an evening game viewing drive in search of black manned Lions, Elephants, Leopards, Cheetahs, Buffalos and other plains game. The sighting of Rhino and Leopard cannot be guaranteed and luck is a necessary factor as they are sparsely numbered, very shy and elusive. Dinner and overnight is taken at Lodge on Full Board Basis.

Day 2-3

Masai Mara National Reserve

After breakfast at 0730hrs, start a full day of tracking game across the rich, tree studded grassland and rolling hills with your Tropical Wild Expeditions guide in this Reserve which borders Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park.

This reserve is the most visited Park in Kenya and the best for game as it has an extensive road and track network, which allows excellent photography and close viewing opportunities. The famous Mara is renowned for its great herds of plains game, black manned Lions, Leopards and Cheetahs. It also has numerous Elephants and virtually every type of wildlife to be found in Kenya. Antelopes, Wildebeests, Zebras and Giraffes can be seen as well as scavengers like Hyenas and Vultures. Bird life is also prolific with over 450 species recorded.
Enjoy a picnic lunch besides the Mara River as you watch Hippos and with luck Crocodiles basking on the rocks and one of the Wildebeests crossing points. We return to Camp/Lodge at 4:30pm for dinner and overnight on FB Basis.

Day 4

After breakfast, depart the Mara region for Nakuru, lunch en route, with scenic views of Mt. Longonot and Lake Naivasha from afar on the main highway. You will arrive in the evening for drop off for your dinner and overnight at the Buraha Zenoni Hotel.

Day 5

After early breakfast proceed for a game viewing drive in the Park, which has prolific Flamingoes, White Pelicans and the Marabou Stork among others. Waterbuck and Cape Buffalo can be seen near the shoreline. Rothschild’s Giraffe and the White Rhino are additional attractions among other species of plains game and cats like Lion.
Lake Nakuru National Park has many Fuchsia-Pink Flamingos that flock to feed on the teeming algae of its alkaline waters. It has a uniquely rewarding game-viewing venue and a sanctuary for both the Black Rhino and the endangered White Rhino. The park offers an incredible 450 different species of birds which are water, fish-eating, terrestrial and migratory birds to include Pelican, Fish Eagle, Secretary Bird, Heron, Egret, Hammerkop and Grebe.

Drive to Naivasha for lunch and in the afternoon you have an option to take a Boat ride in this fresh water lake to go and see hippos and fish eagles at extra cost. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

After breakfast have a nature walk in the Hell's Gate National Park. You may hire bicycles to cycle in this park only. There are over 100 species of birds in the park, including vultures, Verreaux's Eagles, Augur Buzzard, and Swifts. African Buffalo, Zebra, Eland, Hartebeest, Thomson's Gazelle, and Baboons are also common. The park is also home to Klipspringer Antelope and Chanler's Mountain Reedbuck–enjoy hot or picnic lunches and depart to Amboseli arriving late evening for dinner and overnight at your chosen accomodation.

After breakfast at the camp, a true African experience awaits in this park you will set off early to see the magnificent view of Mount Kilimanjaro and set off for another extensive game drive before the clouds build up over the summit. Amboseli is an excellent place to view a multitude of wildlife such as Wildebeest, Giraffes, you will spend a full day in the park with a packed lunch. Later you will come back for dinner and overnight at the Manjaro Tented Camp.

Day 8

After breakfast check out at the camp for a morning game drive and if with weather permitting, the crowds will shear off leaving you mesmerized by the majesty of the Kilimanjaro and its gleaming snow capped peaks. Later depart Amboseli park for Nairobi with picnic lunch served en-route arriving in Nairobi late afternoon you will be dropped at the airport or hotel.
