Here, you'll complete registration and secure your climbing permits with the search and rescue service, ensuring all formalities are in place for a safe ascent. Once ready, you'll embark on a 6km trek to Mti Mkubwa Camp (2,785m), which typically takes about 3-4 hours. The journey begins through lush rainforest, where sightings of native flora and fauna are common. Given the frequent showers in this zone, carrying rain gear is highly recommended. Mti Mkubwa-Shira1 Camp
Leaving Mti Mkubwa Camp, you'll trek toward Shira Camp, moving from dense rainforest into Kilimanjaro’s beautiful moorland zone. Shira 1 To Moir Hut
You’ll trek from Shira 1 Camp to Moir Hut, journeying deeper into Kilimanjaro’s striking alpine desert.
