A day for the wildlife game Driving inside Mkomazi a spectacular wilderness. Within sight to the northwest is Mt Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest summit. To the south, the Pare and Usambara Mountains form a dramatic backdrop, to the north, Kenya’s vast Tsavo Park shares a border with Mkomazi, making common ground for migratory herds of elephant, oryx and zebra during the wet season. Together with Tsavo, forms one of the largest and most important protected ecosystems on earth. It is a classic dry-country reserve of grey-green nyika bush, ancient baobab trees and isolated rocky hills. Hence, the seas of bush give way to open savannah woodlands of umbrella acacias and mbugas – shallow valleys of grassland. The animals too, are typical of the arid nyika. Giraffe, oryx, gerenuk, hartebeest, lesser kudu, eland, impala, gazelle share the reserve with elephant, buffalo and numerous predators including lion, leopard & cheetah. The only rhino sanctuary in the country with over 60 individual black rhino, you can see them easily than those which move freely in the wilderness like in Ngorongoro and Serengeti
After the Rhino sanctuary tour, We'll proceed with African Wild Dogs gaming, The African wild dog is critically endangered species. There're fewer than 6,500 throughout Africa. These social animals like all other wildlife have their niche in the complex web of predator/prey relationships that's Africa’s ecosystem. They're an efficient hunter who improves the quality of species by removing the sick and weak and reducing inbreeding by scattering individuals. Not only reintroduced over 200dogs into the Mkomazi & Tsavo ecosystem but is considered an expert in the management of wild dog breeding. Dropoff at your hotel.
