Serengeti Park to Ngorongoro highland
Today is dedicated to a deeper exploration of Serengeti’s vast landscapes and remarkable biodiversity. After breakfast, you’ll embark on a full-day game drive, traversing various terrains within the park to maximize your chance of spotting the Big Five—lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant, and, with luck, the elusive rhinoceros. The Serengeti is home to one of the world’s largest populations of lions, and sightings are common, particularly as they rest in the shade during the day’s heat. You’ll also encounter herds of elephants, Cape buffalo, and vibrant birdlife, including the kori bustard, one of Africa’s heaviest flying birds, and the colorful Fischer’s lovebird.
In the late afternoon, you’ll depart the Serengeti and journey to Karatu, where you’ll return to the welcoming ambiance of the Hhando Lodge. Here, a freshly prepared dinner awaits, and you’ll have the chance to unwind in comfort, preparing for the next day’s adventure at Ngorongoro Crater.

Ngorongoro Crater
Your final day brings you to the Ngorongoro Crater, an awe-inspiring natural marvel often called the “8th Wonder of the World.” This UNESCO World Heritage Site is one of the best places to view wildlife, as the crater’s enclosed environment creates a sanctuary for over 25,000 large animals. The crater floor offers a stunning variety of landscapes, from grasslands to woodlands and lakes, providing habitats for a diverse array of species. Descending into the crater, you’ll be immersed in an ancient world where wildlife roams freely. Here, you’ll have the chance to observe black rhinos, which are highly endangered and rarely found elsewhere. Other residents include lions, hyenas, zebras, wildebeest, and baboons.
The crater’s permanent water sources support a stable population of animals year-round, making it an ideal spot for wildlife viewing.
