You will depart early in the morning from Gondar to Debark. In Debark, you will arrange your visit with the park office, where you will receive a scout and guide. Then, drive to Sankaber. You can either drive all the way to the campsite or have the car drop you off at Simien Lodge for a 4-hour walk. Alternatively, you can choose to keep driving further and be dropped off 2 hours before reaching the campsite. The park hike will take you through beautiful landscapes and offer endless mountain ridges from different angles. You are likely to see common mammals in this area, including gelada baboons, bush bucks, clipspringers (small antelopes), and, rarely, leopards under the cliffs. Additionally, you can observe some common birds and animals. Sankaber will be your first campsite on the trip, located at 3250 meters above sea level.

Trek Sankaber campsite to gich campsite
From Sankaber, you will begin hiking along the ridge, looking out over the foothills 800 meters below. From the ridge, you will descend into the valley and have a view of the Jinbar River plunging into the Geech Abyss. After spending some time at the waterfall, in the late afternoon, you will have the chance to see the Ethiopian wolf, the rarest canid in the world. You will then continue on to the former Geech village, where you will find your second campsite, located at 3600 meters above sea level.

Trek Gich campsite to mount imatgogo via saha valley
After breakfast at Geech campsite, you will hike through the endless grasslands that are home to the giant lobelia plants. After about 2 hours of hiking across the plateaus, you will reach Imet Gogo, which offers an amazing 360-degree view of the mountains. Here, you will have reached an altitude of 3,926 meters above sea level and be able to look out at the stunning landscapes from every angle. From this height and viewpoint, you can see the canyon below, distant ridges, and the seemingly endless valleys.
From here, you will return to Geech, but first, you will pass through Siha Gorge for a lunch break. When you finally arrive back at Geech, you will have time to relax before nightfall. In the evening, you will have the option of taking a short sunset hike to Kedadit Peak (3,780 meters above sea level) for a breathtaking sunset. You will spend the night back at Geech.

Trek gich to Chennek campsite via mount enatye
After breakfast at Geech, you will start your 8-hour hike to one of the most spectacular mountain passes, with precipices, forests, and bushes. From the campsite, you will see Enatye Peak (4,070 meters), where you will descend into a forest of giant hazel trees and then cross the ridge lines of open grasslands. After climbing up to Mount Enatye for a view of the vertical drop, you will understand why the locals named it "Mama Mia."
Here, you will have lunch and continue towards Chennek, where you will have the opportunity to see wildlife such as the Walia ibex, gelada baboons, antelopes, and, rarely, the Ethiopian wolf. You will also encounter diverse plant life and birds. Chennek will be your campsite for the night, located at 3,620 meters above sea level.

Trek from Chenek campsite to Ambiko campsite via mount Buwahit
After breakfast, you will hike for 3 hours to summit Mount Bwahit, the second-highest mountain in Ethiopia, after Ras Dejen (4,430 meters above sea level). From here, you can look out toward your hike for the next day, Ras Dejen, and the surrounding landscapes. You will then follow the rocky hills down the path toward the Mesheha Valley, crossing the Mesheha River before climbing back up toward Ambiko, where you will camp for the night at 3,400 meters above sea level.

Trek Ambiko to mount ras dejen (dashen commonly known)and back to Ambiko
The big trek to the peak of Ras Dashen will begin with an early morning walk through the main river valley before sunrise. Then, you will start ascending the mountain with a steep climb amidst the giant lobelia plants. The last part of the hike will likely be very challenging, but it will be very rewarding when you reach the highest point in Ethiopia. At 4,543 meters above sea level, you will be treated to amazing views of the immense landscape. After approximately 9-10 hours of hiking for the day, you will arrive back at the Ambiko campsite for the night.

Trek Ambiko to sona campsite
Today, you will have a 9-hour hike from Ambiko down to the Mesheha River and then up to the Arkwazeye village. Here, you will arrive at the Sona campsite, where you can take in the view of the first portion of the trek. The campsite offers outstanding views of Mount Imet Gogo and the endless mountain ranges, and it has an amazing sunset. You will camp at Sona, located at 3,400 meters above sea level.

Trek sona campsite to mekarebia
Today, after breakfast, you will reach a valley called Incya Valley and descend to the river. After lunch at the Incya River, you will have time for a swim before heading out for another hike along the bank of the river through the lowlands, making your way to the Mekarebya campsite. At the campsite, you will enjoy outstanding views of the highlands as you look back over the gorgeous valley. You will stay for the night at Mekarebya campsite, located at 2,200 meters above sea level.

Trek mekarebya campsite to mulit campsite
The walk from Mekarebya to Mulit takes you along the riverbed of the Incya River and provides amazing opportunities to see numerous bird species, such as pin-tailed sandgrouse, village indigo, paradise monarchs, and tropical boubous, all of which can be spotted here. The lunch break will be at the Derekwonz River pool, where you can have another chance to take a swim before climbing up to the Awazza village. Here, you can see the spectacular Awazza volcanic table mountain and experience the local way of life and culture, including the common coffee ceremony at the beautiful villages of Awazza. Afterward, you will hike to the last campsite at Mulit, located at 1,500 meters above sea level.

After breakfast at mulit campsite you will pack everything what was usedfor the past days and take 3 hours walk to the adi arkey town where a vehicle will meet you to bring you back to the meeting point Gondar 5 hours drive and the tour endups and farewell.
