Fly from Arusha to Kogatende airstrip (Northern Serengeti)

After a pleasant arrival at Kogatende airstrip, you will be welcomed with our safari guide who will initial introduce himself then after you will embark on an epic adventure proceeding with the game drive the northern Serengeti, Game viewing is superb year-round in the Serengeti: the park is home to the Big Five (although rhinos are rarely seen) and is particularly renowned for its predators – leopard, cheetah, lion, and hyena – which are regularly spotted. The Serengeti also plays host to the phenomenal Great Migration, which sees millions of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle traversing the open plains of the park in search of fresh grass from seasonal rains, moving northwards of the Serengeti known as “Kogatende” into the neighboring Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya, The dramatic scenes of huge herds on the move, crossing rivers and vast plains, and pursued by predators looking for their next kill, are the stuff nature documentaries are made of.

Hadzabe and Datoga indigenous people experience

Hadzabe and Datoga indigenous people experience

The Hadza, or “Hadzabe community” is an indigenous ethnic group in north-central Tanzania, living around Lake Eyasi in the central Rift Valley and the neighboring Serengeti Plateau. This cultural experience is one of the most sensitive cultural encounters available today. The essence of Hadzabe culture can be summed up in one word: Harmony. They live in harmony with each other, nature, and themselves, it is almost impossible to spend time with traditional hunter-gatherer people and not affect the way they live. But the Hadzabe in Northern Tanzania live today as they have lived for thousands of years: hunting for game with bows and arrows, gathering honey from the beautiful African baobab trees, and digging for roots and tubers from deep within the arid ground of the acacia bushland. And this will bring a deep sensitivity to your African culture. After having the lessons, we will drive back to Karatu for your dinner and overnight stay.
