Chimpanzee Tracking and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Today, you will track the most famous inhabitants of the Kibale, the chimpanzees. Chimpanzees share 98% of the human genes making them our closest living relatives. Today, in Uganda, there are approximately 5,000 chimpanzees left in the wild. The chimpanzee trekking experience here is done on several well-maintained walking trails. There is also a wonderfully diverse concentration of other primates, more than any other forest in East Africa. In fact, besides our colorful cousins, the chimpanzees, you can find red Colobus, red-tailed guenon, white-nosed monkey, gray-checked mangabey, blue monkey, L’Hoest’s monkey, and the black and white Colobus monkey. Afterward, you will transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park for a night game drive. If you have time, you may also have an evening game drive.

Relaxed Breakfast, Drive to Ishasha Sector and then Connect to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

You'll enjoy a relaxed breakfast and then head to the Ishasha Sector (Southern Queen) in search of tree-climbing lions. The chance of spotting these lions stands at about 60-70% but sometimes they are hard to spot (most especially when they are down in the grassland looking for prey). Should you get to spot them up in the tree, the sight is picturesque and memorable. From Ishasha, you'll embark on the final leg of your journey taking you to the accommodation situated right at the edge of Bwindi National Park. Once at the lodge, you can choose to just relax or (at an extra cost of 25$ pp.) move out for the late afternoon-to-evening local community and cultural encounter.
