Your adventure begins with the sun just rising, casting a warm glow as you depart from the pick-up point at 7:30 a.m. The road stretches ahead, taking you through Uganda’s vibrant landscapes. At Equator, a short stop for breakfast and freshening up brings a sense of excitement for the journey ahead. The equator line crosses our path, offering you the experience of standing in both hemispheres at once! The unique equator experiment shows how water spirals differently on each side of the Earth, a sight you won’t soon forget.

As you travel further, you’ll stop in Biharwe, where a short hike leads you to the Eclipse Monument, a symbol of a powerful moment in Uganda’s history. By lunchtime, you’ll arrive at Igongo Cultural Centre, a treasure trove of Ugandan culture and flavour. Savor a delicious meal here, perhaps trying dishes infused with Ankole heritage, before continuing on to Bwindi.

Today is the day! The excitement builds over breakfast at 7:00 a.m. before heading to the national park’s gate for registration and a briefing. You can feel the anticipation in the air as the ranger explains what to expect on your gorilla trek. Then, you and your small group, led by an experienced guide, venture into the misty forest, where the thrill of finding gorillas grows with each step. It’s a journey through Bwindi’s lush vegetation, the sunlight streaming through the leaves, until finally, you come face-to-face with a family of mountain gorillas.

For one magical hour, you’ll watch as they play, groom each other, and go about their daily lives in the heart of the forest. It’s a rare and profound experience, one that leaves you feeling deeply connected to these gentle giants. Afterward, as you return, you’re awarded a certificate from Uganda Wildlife Authority, a symbol of your participation in this incredible conservation effort.

After a hearty breakfast at 6:30 a.m., the journey continues to Queen Elizabeth National Park, taking you through rolling hills and scenic tea plantations. As you enter the park, the landscape shifts to a vast savannah, alive with the sounds of nature. By lunchtime, you’ll arrive at Bush Lodge along the Kazinga Channel, where you can unwind and enjoy a meal while watching for hippos wallowing nearby.

In the late afternoon, a game drive unfolds across the plains, where elephants, buffalo, and antelope roam freely. Lions may be spotted basking in the sun, and the rare sight of a tree-climbing lion is always possible here. As the sun dips below the horizon, you’ll return to Bush Lodge, your home for the night, where a delicious dinner awaits. Relax and relive the moments of the day in the serene setting along the channel.

By late afternoon, you’ll arrive at the park and catch your first view of Murchison Falls, where the Nile crashes through a narrow gorge, creating a breathtaking cascade and mist-filled air. This raw display of nature’s power invites a moment of awe as you take in the sights and sounds.

As dusk falls, you’ll arrive at Pakuba Lodge, a haven within the park where animals often roam freely through the grounds, enhancing the immersive wilderness experience. Dinner awaits with the soothing sounds of the African bush, offering a peaceful close to an unforgettable day.
