This area is also a mating ground for the Uganda Kob, bats, rock python and forest cobras that devour bats. Have a relaxed hot lunch before we transfer to the impenetrable forest - Home of the Mountain Gorillas.

Spend the day tracking endangered mountain gorillas, spending close to two hours among them. See mothers keeping infants close as they knuckle walk on three limbs. Watch scampering toddlers reined in by an attentive father, who takes his job as protector of the family, quite personally. The distinct behaviour of a mountain gorilla in the wild will demonstrate the bond that exists between primate and man — and not escaping the poignant fact these creatures lie on the brink of extinction.
