Day 1

Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park

Start your day with an early arrival in moshi, followed by a journey to Tarangire National Park. En route, enjoy a wonderful picnic lunch in the scenic surroundings.

Tarangire National Park is famous for its towering baobab trees and its thriving, year-round elephant population. It's not unusual to spot herds of up to 300 elephants of various sizes and ages. The park is also home to a diverse array of predators and over 550 bird species, boasting the highest number of breeding species found in a single habitat anywhere in the world.

As the largest wildlife refuge outside the Serengeti ecosystem, Tarangire offers unique sightings of rare species like the fringe-eared oryx and the long-necked gerenuk. You’ll also see wildebeest, zebras, and other animals gathering around the shrinking lagoons, while lions lie in wait, ready to seize their next hunting opportunity.

Lake Manyara National park

Lake Manyara National park

This morning, you will drive to Lake Manyara National Park. On this epic safari! Manyara is a small but diverse park 120km west of Arusha. Everything you’ll see here is on a different scale. It is both compact (this is one of the narrowest parks in Africa) and epic (the Great Rift Escarpment towers over Lake Manyara’s western boundary). The park’s namesake is a shallow, salt lake. It covers a large area of the park, flooding and drying with the seasons and is home to thousands of wading birds (including flamingos and over 500 other bird species). You may see baboon and elephant in the park’s thick evergreen forest, and watch for the tree-climbing lions that have become famous throughout Africa.
You will enjoy a picnic lunch inside the Park.

Ngorongoro Crater

After an early breakfast at Ngedere lodge set off for a thrilling game drive in the renowned Ngorongoro Crater

Ngorongoro Crater
Often called the “eighth wonder of the world,” the Ngorongoro Crater is a breathtaking destination. It is one of the few places where you can spot all members of the Big Five: lion, leopard, elephant, black rhinoceros, and African buffalo.

The crater also boasts two stunning volcanic features, Olmoti and Empakai. Olmoti is famous for its magnificent waterfalls, while Empakai captivates visitors with its deep lake surrounded by lush, green crater walls.

Descending into the crater, you’ll witness an extraordinary abundance of wildlife. Large herds of wildebeest, zebras, buffalo, and Grant’s gazelles roam freely, joined by warthogs, hartebeests, bushbucks, waterbucks, and Bohor reedbucks.

As the day winds down, you’ll journey back to moshi or, if necessary, head to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward travel.
