Nairobi - Tsavo west

Your safari begins early as you leave Nairobi around 6:00 AM, embarking on a scenic drive along the Nairobi-Mombasa highway. Enjoy views of Kenya’s countryside, stopping briefly for refreshments en route. Arrive at Tsavo West National Park around midday and proceed to your lodge for check-in and lunch. After a relaxing break, set out for your first game drive. Tsavo West is renowned for its dramatic landscapes, including volcanic hills, lava flows, and diverse wildlife such as elephants, lions, leopards, and buffalo. Visit Mzima Springs, where you can view hippos and crocodiles in crystal-clear waters through an underwater observatory. Tsavo west

Rise early for a pre-breakfast game drive to maximize wildlife viewing opportunities, especially predators and other animals active at dawn. After breakfast, depart for Tsavo East National Park, known for its red-dust-covered elephants and vast open savannahs teeming with wildlife like cheetahs, giraffes, and impalas. Marvel at the Yatta Plateau, the world’s longest lava flow, and the Aruba Dam, a popular animal gathering spot. Return to Salt Lick Safari Lodge for lunch and some relaxation. Spend the afternoon on another game drive within the park or simply enjoy the lodge's facilities, including the viewing deck overlooking the watering hole. Conclude the day with dinner and a peaceful night at the lodge, serenaded by the sounds of the African wilderness.
