There is a beautiful environment with shimmering lakes and wetlands, patches of acacia woodland, and broad savannah hidden behind the sheer volcanic walls. The Crater was formed two to three million years ago when a massive volcano exploded and fell in on itself. The Crater provides you with the best chance of seeing the endangered black rhino, which can sometimes be spotted in the open grasslands.
