Upon arrival, you will be warmly welcomed by your Musana Tours & Travel driver-guide, who will provide a short orientation before beginning your journey to Volcanoes National Park. The transfer from Kigali takes approximately 2–3 hours and offers a scenic introduction to Rwanda, famously known as the “Land of a Thousand Hills.”
As you leave Kigali, you will pass through beautiful countryside filled with rolling green hills, terraced farms, and vibrant local villages. The road gradually winds upward toward Musanze, the gateway town to the park, with stunning views unfolding along the way. In the distance, the majestic Virunga Mountains rise dramatically, creating a breathtaking backdrop and building anticipation for the experiences ahead.
Upon arrival in Kinigi, you will visit the Gorilla Guardians Village. Here, you will immerse yourself in Rwandan culture, enjoy traditional performances, and learn about their inspiring journey toward conservation and sustainable livelihoods.

Day 2

Today, we will embark on a golden monkey trekking experience in Volcanoes National Park. Early in the morning, your guide will take you to the park headquarters for a detailed briefing on safety guidelines and what to expect during the trek. You will then set off into the lush bamboo forests, home to the playful and endangered golden monkeys. This experience offers close encounters as you watch them leap through the trees and forage on the forest floor.
After the trek, we will begin our scenic journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The drive takes approximately 4–5 hours, passing through beautiful Rwandan and Ugandan landscapes, depending on how long is spent at the border. As you enter Uganda, the terrain gradually becomes more rugged and forested, leading you into the stunning highlands surrounding Bwindi.
We will arrive in the late afternoon, check in at your lodge, and relax and unwind before the incredible gorilla trekking experience awaiting you the next day.

The highlight of your visit to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park will be the exhilarating gorilla tracking experience. Your day begins with an early briefing at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park headquarters for your gorilla trekking adventure. Accompanied by an expert guide, you'll trek through the dense forest, navigating through the misty terrain to find the mountain gorillas. The experience of spending an hour with these gentle giants in their natural habitat is unforgettable, as you observe their behaviors and interactions.
After the trek, enjoy lunch at your lodge before heading to Rushaga Village. Here, you’ll immerse yourself in the local culture, learning about the traditions and customs of the community living alongside the gorillas. Visit local villages, witness traditional dances, and explore the role the people play in wildlife conservation. After your immersive experience in Bwindi, you’ll begin the journey back to Kigali, with a scenic detour to Lake Bunyonyi. Early in the morning, enjoy breakfast before departing from Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The drive to Lake Bunyonyi will take around 2-3 hours, offering breathtaking views of rolling hills and terraced farms along the way.
At Lake Bunyonyi, you’ll have the chance to relax and take in the tranquil beauty of the lake, Africa’s second-deepest. You can enjoy a boat ride on the lake, exploring its picturesque islands, or simply unwind by the water. After lunch by the lake, continue your journey toward Kigali, which takes about 4-5 hours.
You’ll drive through Uganda's stunning countryside and cross back into Rwanda, with scenic views of hills and valleys along the way. On arrival in Kigali in the late afternoon or evening, your guide will drop you off at your preferred location, marking the end of your memorable journey.
