Tarangire national park

Tarangire national park

After breakfast, your Get Together Adventures guide will pick you up from your accommodation and drive you to Tarangire National Park. The journey takes approximately two and a half hours along well-maintained tarmac roads. The park is named after the Tarangire River, which flows through it, providing the only water source for wildlife in the region during the dry season. Often referred to as the "river of warthogs," the river attracts large herds of elephants, which can frequently be seen gathered along its banks.
Tarangire is also a birdwatcher's paradise, home to more breeding species than anywhere else on Earth. The park is dotted with the iconic, ancient Baobab trees, some of which are believed to be over a thousand years old.

You’ll enjoy a picnic lunch at one of the park's scenic spots before continuing your game drive. Afterward, we’ll drive to your accommodation in Karatu, where you can relax and unwind after a day full of wildlife encounters.

Lake Manyara national park

Lake Manyara national park

After breakfast, you’ll embark on a scenic drive to Lake Manyara National Park, a small yet remarkably diverse destination. Despite its compact size—one of the narrowest parks in Africa—Lake Manyara is nothing short of epic, with the towering Great Rift Escarpment forming the park’s dramatic western boundary. The park is named after the shallow, saltwater lake that spans much of the area, expanding and contracting with the seasons. This dynamic lake is home to thousands of wading birds, including flamingos, and over 500 other bird species.

As you explore the park, you may encounter baboons and elephants roaming through the lush evergreen forest, and if you're lucky, you may spot the famous tree-climbing lions, a unique feature of this park.

After a day filled with incredible wildlife and breathtaking scenery, you’ll make a short drive to your accommodation in Karatu, where you can unwind and reflect on your adventures.

From there, you'll continue your journey through the conservation area and enter the southern part of the Serengeti National Park.

The Serengeti is a truly awe-inspiring destination, renowned for its vast, open grasslands that offer unparalleled wildlife sightings. While the park is home to an incredible diversity of animals, it is especially famous for the Great Migration, when massive herds of wildebeest, zebras, and antelope follow a seasonal path in search of fresh grazing. Serengeti - Ngorongoro crater

After breakfast, you’ll drive from Serengeti National Park to the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater. As you approach, the sight of the crater’s steep volcanic walls reveals a hidden world—a pristine wilderness filled with vast savannahs, acacia woodlands, and sparkling lakes and swamps. Formed millions of years ago when a massive volcano erupted and collapsed, Ngorongoro Crater is often referred to as a "lost world."

The drive down into the crater is an adventure in itself, and once you reach the crater floor, you’ll be surrounded by herds of wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, and over 500 bird species. The crater also offers one of the best opportunities to spot the endangered black rhino, which can sometimes be seen grazing in the open grasslands.
