After enjoying breakfast at the lodge, you’ll depart for Tarangire National Park, named after the Tarangire River that runs through its heart. This ‘river of warthogs’ serves as the only water source for wildlife in the region during the dry season. The park features diverse vegetation, including elephant grass, acacia woodlands, and lush groundwater forests.

Tarangire is renowned for its large elephant herds, often seen gathering along the riverbanks. As you journey onward, you'll pass through the misty rainforests of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Wake up early for a journey to Ngorongoro Crater, often called the 8th Wonder of the Natural World. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is home to the highest concentration of African wildlife on the continent. The crater is nearly 20 km wide, around 610 meters deep, and renowned for its diverse ecosystems.

In addition to the Big Five, the crater's various springs attract animals like wildebeests, gazelles, reedbucks, and over 500 bird species. After exploring, you’ll stop at a scenic picnic site for lunch before continuing your game viewing adventure. The crater features a river, swamps, a soda lake teeming with flamingos, a lush forest, and vast open plains.

Ngorongoro is also famous for its elephant population, which boasts some of the largest elephants in the world, with impressive tusks, due to the nutrient-rich volcanic soil. As you take in the wonders of the crater, you’ll head to your lodge, arriving just in time to enjoy a stunning sunset and unwind after an exciting day.

After breakfast, enjoy a short drive to Lake Manyara National Park, where you’ll be treated to spectacular views of the Great Rift Valley wall. Your first encounter will likely be large troops of baboons, a common sight in the park.

Lake Manyara is famous for its tree-climbing lions and is home to a remarkable array of birdlife. The alkaline soda lake provides a thriving habitat for thousands of pink flamingos, their vibrant colors contrasting with the grey minerals along the shore. Yellow-billed storks soar and corkscrew on thermal currents rising from the escarpment, while herons gracefully flap their wings across the sunlit sky. Even those who aren’t avid birdwatchers will be captivated by the diversity of wildlife, including hippos.

A packed lunch will be served at a scenic picnic site, after which you'll begin your drive back to Arusha for an overnight stay at your lodge.
