Ngorongoro Crater

Ngorongoro Crater

Your adventure begins with a flight from Zanzibar to Arusha, followed by a picturesque 2-hour drive to the Ngorongoro Crater. Often referred to as the "8th Natural Wonder of the World," this awe-inspiring site is the largest unbroken caldera on Earth, created around 2 million years ago by the collapse of the ancient Ngorongoro Volcano.

Stretching 19 kilometers across, the crater features a variety of stunning landscapes, from acacia woodlands and hippo-filled swamps to vast open grasslands. This unique ecosystem is home to an abundance of wildlife and is shared by the Maasai people, who graze their cattle alongside buffalo and wildebeest. You'll enjoy a delightful lunch within the crater before ending your day with dinner and an overnight stay in comfortable accommodations.

Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, you'll set off for Tarangire National Park, where an exhilarating game drive awaits. Spanning 3,000 square kilometers, Tarangire is famous for its impressive elephant herds and majestic baobab trees.

The park takes its name from the Tarangire River, which winds through its landscape and serves as a vital lifeline for wildlife, especially during the dry season (June to November). During this time, Tarangire rivals the Serengeti in its concentration of animals.

With its diverse ecosystems and the ever-flowing Tarangire River, the park is home to over 2,000 elephants and more than 500 bird species. Enjoy a picnic lunch amidst the park’s natural beauty before returning to Arusha. From there, you’ll head to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight back to Zanzibar.
