Flamingo Lake Walk in Lake Natron
This morning, lace up your walking shoes for an exciting excursion around the shores of Lake Natron, guided by a Maasai people. As you explore, keep an eye out for the lesser flamingos, as Lake Natron is one of East Africa’s most important breeding grounds for these stunning birds. During the breeding season, the lake can host up to 2.5 million flamingos, with the peak period for egg-laying and hatching occurring between October and early December.
While the lake is home to a few other bird species, its highly alkaline waters limit biodiversity.
