Mombasa to Tsavo East National Park

Pick up from the hotel at around 6.00 am driving along the Mombasa- Nairobi highway for 100 km with a stop over for coffee and short calls. Proceed for 6 km to Tsavo East (The largest park in Kenya covering an area of 13,747 km2). Begin the game drive en route to Aruba Dam (A water hole where animals come to drink water). Physical attractions include the Tsavo River, Yatta Plateau, Mdanda Rock, Lugard Falls, Voi seasonal River, and Aruba Dam. You will also have a chance to see animals such as red elephants, rhinos, leopards, cheetahs, and giraffes. Proceed with the game drive to your lodge/camp where you will check in at around 1.00 pm. Have lunch and relax till 4.00 pm after which you will proceed for an afternoon game drive till 6.30 pm then back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Tsavo East National Park to Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary

Wake up at around 5.30 am, have a cup of coffee, and start an early morning game drive before the main breakfast. This time you have a chance of seeing the big cats of Tsavo. Back to the lodge for the main breakfast at around 8.30 am followed by the last game drive and depart to Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary. Arrive early in the afternoon, and check in at your lodge where you will have lunch and a short rest. Depart at around 2.30 pm for an afternoon game drive till 6.30 pm. Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary was founded by the Hilton early seventies. It covers an area of 24,000 Ha. Physical attractions include thorny bushes, acacia forests, arid and savannah, swamp, and Taita Hills among others. Animals found here include elephants, lions, cheetahs, zebras, giraffes, and many different types of birds such as ostriches, horny bills, guinea fowls, kingfishers, and weaver birds.

Taita Hills to Mombasa

At around 6:30am, enjoy a cup of coffee or tea at the lodge before heading out for an early morning game drive. This is an opportunity to search for animals, especially big cats that may have emerged into the open overnight. After the game drive, you will return to the lodge for breakfast.

Check-out from the lodge is around 10:00am. We will then begin our return journey via the Mombasa-Nairobi highway, dropping you off at your beach hotel or the airport.
