Coast to Tsavo East National Park

Your safari adventure begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel or resort in Mombasa, Diani, or Watamu. You’ll drive inland along the Mombasa–Nairobi Highway, passing through local villages and scenic countryside before arriving at the Bachuma Gate, the main entrance to Tsavo East National Park. As soon as you enter the park, your game viewing begins—keep your eyes open for elephants covered in Tsavo’s characteristic red dust, graceful giraffes, zebras, antelopes, and possibly lions or cheetahs.

You’ll enjoy a leisurely game drive en route to your safari lodge or camp, where you’ll check in and have lunch. After a short rest, set out for an afternoon game drive, exploring the park’s vast savannah and following the Galana River, a lifeline for many animals during the dry season. As the sun sets, return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay surrounded by the tranquil sounds of the African wilderness.

Tsavo East – Return to the Coast

Wake up early for a morning game drive when the park is most active and wildlife sightings are at their best. Enjoy the soft golden light of dawn as you search for predators returning from their night hunts and other animals grazing in the open plains. After the drive, return to the lodge for breakfast.

Later, check out and begin your journey back to the coast, enjoying one last short game drive as you exit the park. You’ll arrive back in Mombasa, Diani, or Watamu in the early afternoon, where you’ll be dropped off at your hotel—bringing your short but unforgettable Tsavo East safari to a close.
