Day 2

Arusha - Tarangire National Park

Your Chemli Expeditions guide will pick you up from your accommodation after breakfast, and you’ll set off for Tarangire National Park, a two-and-a-half-hour drive on well-maintained roads. Named after the Tarangire River, the park’s lifeline during the dry season, it is famed for its large elephant herds often seen gathering near the river. You’ll also have the chance to spot giraffes, bush-bucks, hartebeests, and their predators, including lions and leopards. Tarangire is also a birder’s paradise, hosting the highest number of breeding bird species in the world. The landscape is dotted with ancient Baobab trees, some over a thousand years old.
Enjoy a picnic lunch in the park, followed by a game drive. Afterward, you’ll head to your accommodation in Karatu for an overnight stay.

Day 3

After breakfast, you’ll journey to the cooler highlands of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. As you approach the Ngorongoro Crater, it unveils a hidden world, surrounded by steep volcanic walls and teeming with pristine wilderness. Within this natural marvel lie vast savanna's, acacia woodlands, sparkling lakes, and thriving swamps. Formed two to three million years ago after a massive volcanic eruption and collapse, the Crater spans 260 km² and is renowned for its geological beauty and one of Africa’s densest concentrations of large mammals.

Descending into the Crater, you’ll encounter herds of wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, and over 500 bird species. It’s also one of the best places to spot the critically endangered black rhino.

After your exploration, you’ll travel through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area to the southern entrance of Serengeti National Park, ready for your next adventure.

Each year, immense herds of wildebeest, accompanied by zebras and antelopes, traverse the plains in search of fresh grazing. The migration is a year-round phenomenon, with the best viewing spots depending on the time of year.

Lake Manyara NP - Arusha

After breakfast, you will head to Lake Manyara National Park, a small yet incredibly diverse gem located 120 km west of Arusha. Despite its compact size, the park features striking contrasts, from the towering Great Rift Escarpment on its western boundary to the expansive Lake Manyara, a shallow saltwater lake that dominates the area. This seasonal lake hosts thousands of wading birds, including flamingos, and over 500 bird species.

In the park’s lush evergreen forest, you may spot baboons, elephants, and the famous tree-climbing lions. Enjoy a picnic lunch amidst the stunning scenery before embarking on your final game drive.
