Make your own way to Wilson Airport in Nairobi for your scheduled morning flight to Samburu. The scenic flight north offers striking views of Kenya’s changing landscapes, from fertile highlands to the arid beauty of the north. On arrival at the Samburu airstrip, you will be met by your safari guide and transferred to your lodge or tented camp, enjoying a game drive en route. After lunch and a short rest, head out for an afternoon game drive in Samburu National Reserve, known for its unique wildlife species and dramatic scenery along the Ewaso Nyiro River. Return to camp at sunset for dinner and overnight.

Explore Samburu National Reserve

Begin the day with an early morning game drive when temperatures are cool and wildlife is most active. This is an excellent time to spot elephants, lions, leopards, and Samburu’s rare “Special Five,” including Grevy’s zebra and reticulated giraffe. Return to camp for breakfast and enjoy some leisure time, taking in the rugged surroundings or relaxing at the lodge. After lunch, set out again for an afternoon game drive, exploring different areas of the reserve and riverbanks that attract abundant wildlife. As the sun sets over the semi-desert landscape, return to camp for dinner and overnight.
