Day 1

Adventurous Moments in Mikumi

Board the early morning ferry from Zanzibar to Dar es Salaam, where you will be met by our colleague who will escort you to the new SGR train station and help you board the train safely. You will arrive in Morogoro in less than two hours and here you will be met by our driver who will then take you to Mikumi (it takes about two hours). Then it is up to you- either jump right into the safari car with a packed lunch or settle into your accommodation and have lunch there first!

You will spend the afternoon to early evening exploring the wonders of Tanzanian wildlife seeing elephant, giraffe, hippo, buffalo, zebra, wildebeest, lion, leopard and a huge number of birds. In the evening you will go back to your accommodation for a relaxing dinner and early night ready for an early start the next day.

Sunrise Safari and Return to Zanzibar

Wake up with the sun and see the beauty of the colours changing across the plains. The cool and calm of an early morning safari is magical. You can see the animals starting stir or on their way back from a night hunt.

After a short safari (approx 1- 1.5hrs) you will say goodbye to Mikumi and start your journey back to Zanzibar.
