Arusha to Lake Natron
Following breakfast, we will collect you from your lodge or hotel and head north via the Rift Valley Escarpment, off the usual route, to Lake Natron. Before you approach the tiny Maasai settlement of Ngare Sero, you will soon see Ol'doinyo Lengai, the sacred mountain of the Masai, in the distance as you travel through typical Maasai territory. Take a guided bush walk to Lake Natron, an alkaline lake where millions of flamingos congregate to mate, causing its shoreline to shimmer in pink. As an alternative, you may stroll over to the neighboring waterfall and have a cool dip.

Lake Natron -Northern Serengeti
Begin early and continue your journey north as the car gently climbs through multiple serpentine twists. Take in the final glimpse of Lake Natron before leaving the Rift Valley and heading to the Northern Serengeti via the settlement of Wasso. Enter the Serengeti at midday through Kleins Gate and experience the first game drive in Lobo. Between October and December, enormous herds of wildebeests can be seen crossing back to the southern plains. Lobo maintains a diverse range of resident game, including leopards, lions, buffaloes, elephants, giraffes, and zebras, thanks to constant springs and an open grass plain environment dotted with kopjes. Proceed to your overnight accommodations.

Serengeti National Park
During the dry season, this is where the massive migratory herds go. With its breathtaking scenery and plethora of species, the Northern Serengeti is still an uncharted area. The enormous herds of migratory zebra and wildebeest during the dry season are without a doubt the most striking feature of this region. But the North Serengeti is also home to a wide variety of resident animals, such as crocodiles, giraffes, hippos, lions, elephants, and the endangered oribi antelope.

Serengeti National Park
After a leisurely morning drive to Central Serengeti, spend the day observing wildlife in the Seronera Valley. The Seronera Valley is home to a variety of species throughout the year, including carnivores such as cheetahs, hyenas, leopards, and lions. You'll also witness ungulates like buffaloes, giraffes, hippopotami, impalas, topi, warthogs, and zebras. Do you know what distinguishes a Grant gazelle from a Thomson gazelle? Both gazelles have white rumps. However, the Thomson gazelle's rump is bordered by a narrow black horizontal stripe below the paler brown one. Furthermore, the Thomson gazelle's tail is completely black, but the Grant gazelle's white rump patch reaches above the tail. As you make your way to your accommodations, ask your guide about these and other topics.

Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater
Enjoy another game drive in Serengeti National Park before continuing to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, which was separated from Serengeti in 1959. The resident Masai in Serengeti National Park was relocated to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where they still live today in harmony with wildlife and nature. Did you know that the Ngorongoro Conservation Area combines a large variety of topographical features and that there are nine different craters within its boundaries? Your guide will happily explain more about this outstanding destination of 8,292 square kilometers. Proceed to your accommodation on top of the crater rim and enjoy a splendid view of the caldera before the night breaks with a sky full of stars. Or continue driving to your accommodation in Karatu.

Ngorongoro Crater to Lake Eyasi
After breakfast drives along the crater rim to Seneto Gate on the western side and descends into the crater floor on an adventurous path – what an impressive view! The Ngorongoro Crater provides a home for a vast number of animals because of its reliable water availability. Animals frequently move in and out. The number of wildebeests and zebras increases during the dry season, whereas the numbers of elands, elephants and waterbucks increase during the wet season. Search for the ‘Big Five‘ – buffalo, elephant, leopard, lion, and the black rhinoceros. The crater is one of the only two places in Tanzania where you can still observe the highly-threatened back rhinoceros. After intensive game viewing continues to Lake Eyasi overnight.

Lake Eyasi to Arusha
In the southwest corner of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area is the beautiful Lake Eyasi, a soda lake that is fed by the Sibiti and Baray Rivers. Visiting the Eyasi lake is a different type of safari experience from those that you may be familiar with from your other Tanzania wilderness excursions with African Mecca. The region around Eyasi is the home of the Hadzabe and Datoga communities who continue their ancient lifestyle of hunting-gathering and pastoralism respectively. Visits to the villages give you a personal, intimate look into the daily life of these people. You may be impromptu invited into their homes, learn about the family structures, participate in traditional dances, participate in bead making with the women, join the traditional small game hunting and gathering by the Hadzabe tribesmen, make bow and arrows, and much more. Early evening drive to Arusha for overnight.
You can be dropped off at the airport right after the tour or a day after the tour.
