Moshi to Miriakamba Hut

In the morning, you'll be collected from your hotel and transferred to Arusha National Park. After completing registration at Momella Gate, you'll set off with your guide and an armed ranger through the forest, which is teeming with wildlife. The forest section is especially scenic, with strangler figs and the possibility of spotting buffalo in clearings. In the late afternoon, you’ll reach a viewpoint before continuing to Miriakamba Hut for dinner.

Miriakamba Hut to Saddle Hut

You’ll set off from Miriakamba Hut, initially passing through the forest zone. In a few hours, you’ll reach Saddle Hut for lunch in the alpine desert zone. In the afternoon, you can take a walk to the summit of Little Meru (12,532 ft / 3,820 m) for stunning views before returning to Saddle Hut for dinner.

Summit Bid and Descent to Arusha

An early rise rewards you with a spectacular sunrise as you reach the summit at Socialist Peak (14,978 ft / 4,565 m), offering clear views of Kilimanjaro and the dramatic cliffs of the crater. After taking photos, you’ll return to Saddle Hut for a quick meal before starting the long descent back to Momella Gate. Here, your driver will meet you and transfer you back to your accommodation for a well-deserved shower.
