Nairobi to Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Your safari will start with a pick-up at JKIA or your hotel in Nairobi at around 7 AM with a stopover at the equator line for photo sessions and a "change of hemispheres" demonstration. You will arrive at the hotel, check in, and have a hot lunch at the camp.

The Conservancy is celebrated for hosting the only two remaining endangered northern white rhinos in the world. It also houses Sweetwater’s Chimpanzee Sanctuary, the only one of its kind in Kenya. Later, you will embark on an exciting afternoon game drive.

Ol Pejeta is home to the Big Five—lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhino—alongside other incredible wildlife, including cheetahs, zebras, and giraffes. You'll return to your camp for dinner and an overnight stay, with the sounds of the African wilderness as your backdrop.

Ol Pejeta to Samburu National Reserve

After breakfast, you will check out of your camp and begin the drive to Samburu National Reserve. This journey offers spectacular views of Mount Kenya and the changing landscapes as you move toward Kenya’s northern frontier. Arriving at Samburu around midday, you will check in to your camp and enjoy a delicious lunch before heading out for an afternoon game drive.

Samburu National Reserve is famous for its unique wildlife species, often referred to as the Samburu Special Five—Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, Beisa oryx, and gerenuk. The park is also home to large herds of elephants, as well as lions, leopards, and cheetahs. The game drive will take you along the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River, where animals gather to drink, providing excellent photo opportunities.

As the day winds down, you will return to your camp for a delightful dinner. You'll spend the evening stargazing or enjoying a bonfire before retiring for the night.

Samburu National Reserve

You'll wake up early for another morning game drive in Samburu National Reserve, giving you the chance to spot predators before they retreat from the day’s heat. Later, you'll head back to the camp for breakfast at the camp as you prepare for an excursion to Buffalo Springs National Reserve, a beautiful oasis located adjacent to Samburu National Reserve.

Buffalo Springs is known for its natural spring pools, where visitors can enjoy a refreshing swim in the clear, cool waters. Surrounded by stunning landscapes, this is the perfect place to unwind after days of game drives. A picnic lunch will be served near the springs, allowing you to relax and take in the breathtaking views.

For a deeper cultural experience, you may opt for a Samburu village visit, where you’ll meet the semi-nomadic Samburu people, learn about their way of life, and even participate in traditional dances.
