Lake Manyara National park
Lake Manyara National Park, established in 1960, is located in the valley of the Great East African Rift Valley. It is the only Rift Valley National Park in northern Tanzania. This is famous for the lions that climb trees. The elephant population is large, but waterbuck, vervet monkey and the black-armed diadem monkey can also be seen. The shallow soda lake is fed by streams that trickle down from the escarpment, creating a forest oasis with lush vegetation in the northern part of the park. The shores of Lake Manyara provide abundant seasonal food for flocks of shimmering pink flamingos. The tributaries of the lake are home to many other waterfowl. Hippos seek shelter from the scorching sun in the cool water. Later in the late afternoon you will be transfer to Arusha.
