Day 1

Serengeti National Park

Serengeti National Park

After an early breakfast, you’ll depart from Arusha on your journey to the world-renowned Serengeti National Park. While the drive is long, it offers breathtaking views as you ascend the crater highlands. A brief stop at the Ngorongoro Crater rim will offer a truly memorable panorama, especially for first-time visitors.

As you continue into the Serengeti, you’ll witness why its name, meaning "endless plains" in the local language, perfectly captures its vast expanse. Covering 6,900 square miles (18,000 square kilometers), the plains stretch endlessly, challenging your sense of distance. The Serengeti is home to the Great Migration, with 2 million wildebeests, hundreds of thousands of zebras, and a variety of antelopes, including impalas and Thomson's gazelles. The park is also a prime spot for spotting big cats and large predators, with lions, cheetahs, leopards, and hyenas often roaming the plains.

Day 2

Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Crater

Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Crater

On this day, we recommend an early start to catch the best of the wildlife during the morning game drive, when the animals are most active. This will also give you the chance to experience one of the most stunning sunrises you’ll ever see.

After the game drive, return to camp for a satisfying brunch before heading to Ngorongoro, often called the 8th Wonder of the Natural World. The crater spans 102 square miles and is surrounded by 2,000-foot-high walls, making it a natural paradise that houses nearly every species native to East Africa. It’s one of the few places in Africa where you can spot the elusive black rhino.

The crater boasts an incredible concentration of wildlife, with a variety of landscapes including a river, swamps, a soda lake filled with flamingos, a forest, and open plains. It’s also known for its magnificent elephants, the largest in the world, whose impressive tusks are a result of the nutrient-rich volcanic soil and grasses.

We will start the day very early and descend into the crater floor for an incredible morning of wildlife in one of the most stunning places on earth. After the game drive, there will be time for a picnic lunch near the beautiful Hippo Lake. After lunch, we will have time for a short game drive and then ascend the crater and exit Ngorongoro Conservation Area towards Arusha. We expect to be back in Arusha around 5 pm although we are flexible in case there is a flight to catch or another situation.
