Mfuwe to South Luangwa National Park
Welcome to Mfuwe, the gateway to the South Luangwa National Park! On your arrival at Mfuwe Airport, you are met and transferred to Track and Trail River Camp, where the next 3 nights are spent. Track and Trail River Camp is an intimate safari camp offering authentic and unique safari experiences. Located on the banks of the Luangwa River, the main entrance of the South Luangwa National Park is only a 5-minute drive away. Depending on the arrival time of your flight, lunch is enjoyed on arrival.
Later, you join the lodge's late afternoon/night drive into South Luangwa in search of Africa's iconic wildlife. Watch the famous Luangwa sunset while having a sundowner drink and snacks. As darkness falls, the safari will continue. Use a spotlight to look for nocturnal predators, hyena, mongoose, owl, civet, bush baby and genet. Your experienced spotter who accompanies the safari guide, is skilled at finding nocturnal animals.

Day 2-3
South Luangwa - Africa's wildlife at its best
South Luangwa - Africa's wildlife at its best
An early wake-up signals another exciting day in South Luangwa. Kick-start your day before the sun rises, enjoying a light breakfast before setting off on your morning safari with your ranger into the bush on an open vehicle game drive safari.
Morning drives are from 6 to 10 am. Watch the bush awaken during your morning drive, look out for elephants crossing the Luangwa River and admire the colorful birdlife. The concentration of animals around the Luangwa River and its oxbow lagoons is among the most intense in Africa.
Return to your lodge after the game drive. The rest of the day is at leisure - retire to your room and relax or laze at the swimming pool. Lunch is a relaxed, informal affair. Meet for afternoon tea before heading out on your late afternoon/evening game drive. At dusk, sundowners are enjoyed deep in the bush, after which the drive continues, using spotlights to search for nocturnal animals. Dinner is a 3-course dinner at Track and Trail River Camp.
