After an early breakfast, depart for a full-day game drive in Tarangire National Park, with a picnic lunch included. Known for its massive elephant herds, sometimes numbering up to 300, the park is a haven for these majestic creatures as they search for water in the dry riverbeds. During the dry season, migratory herds of wildebeests, zebras, buffalos, impalas, gazelles, hartebeests, and elands gather at the park’s shrinking lagoons. Tarangire is a sanctuary for wildlife, especially elephants. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at your lodge.

Lake Manyara
After breakfast, you will depart the lodge at 8:30 am en route to Lake Manyara National Park with a hot picnic lunch in hand. After a full-day game drive, you will make your way to the Marera Valley for dinner and your overnight stay.
Stretching for 50km along the base of the rusty-gold 600-metre high Rift Valley escarpment, Lake Manyara is a scenic gem, with a setting extolled by Ernest Hemingway as “the loveliest I had seen in Africa”. The compact game-viewing circuit through Lake Manyara offers a virtual microcosm of the Tanzanian safari experience. From the entrance gate, the road winds through an expanse of lush jungle-like groundwater forest where hundred-strong baboon troops lounge nonchalantly along the roadside, blue monkeys scamper nimbly between the ancient mahogany trees, dainty bushbuck tread warily through the shadows, and outsized forest hornbills honk cacophonously in the high canopy.

Lake Manyara to Serengeti
After breakfast, you will make your way to Serengeti National Park for a full-day game drive with a picnic lunch.
During the great migration, a million wildebeests, each one driven by the same ancient rhythm, fulfill their instinctive role in the inescapable cycle of life here. They participate in a frenzied 3-week bout of territorial conquests and mating, as well as the survival of the fittest as they plunge in 40km (25 miles) long columns through crocodile-infested waters on the annual exodus north. After a brief population explosion that produces more than 8,000 calves daily, the 1,000km (600 miles) pilgrimage begins again.
