On the day of your arrival at the International Airport Hosea Kutako closed to Windhoek, we will welcome you and will assist you in taking over your rented car. We also discuss your self-drive travel route as well as the most important tips and tricks and answer any questions that may still be open.

You then drive with your rented car to Hotel Heinitzburg, where you can relax at the hotel and explore Windhoek.

Carnivores Galore - A Wildlife Haven

After a hearty breakfast, you still have time to explore the city or do some shopping. After that you drive towards Okahandja.

Then you continue your drive on tar road and gravel roads to your next destination Okonjima Plains Camp in the Okonjima Nature Reserve.

Okonjima Nature Reserve is recognised as one of the premier places to stay to witness carnivores and other endangered species like the leopard, cheetah, aardvark, pangolin, rhino and brown hyaena in the wild and to be educated about conservation.

After a hearty breakfast you leave Okonjima Plains Camp and travel up north via the small towns Otjiwarongo, Otavi and Tsumeb. Enjoy lunch along the road before reaching your friendly and relaxed destination for tonight: Villa Mushara, which is situated just 10 km from the Von Lindequist Gate of the world-famous Etosha National Park. Today you have already the opportunity to drive into the National Park to observe many different antelope species, giraffe, elephant and with some luck even lion, hyena, leopard and rhino.

Before setting off, you'll enjoy a scenic drive along the Walvis Bay Lagoon and past the salt mines to Pelican Point. Upon arrival, you'll board a stable double kayak and embark on your paddling journey.

The seals at Pelican Point are known for their friendly and playful nature, unbothered by the presence of kayaks gliding nearby. They often approach within touching distance, displaying their curiosity. Home to up to 50,000 Cape Fur seals, Heaviside's and Bottlenose dolphins, black-backed jackals, flamingos, pelicans, and even the brown hyena, Pelican Point promises a diverse wildlife encounter.

Today’s journey takes you through the Gaub and Kuiseb canyon to Sossusvlei in the famous Namib Naukluft Park. Sossosvlei is one of the most beautiful and outstanding places in the world and brightens up any photographers heart.

In Solitaire (en route) try the world-famous apple pie from Solitair's bakery (gas station). Your journey then continues through the Namib Naukluft Park to your Lodge.
