A scenic drive will take you to Kinga Home, a comfortable and cozy retreat, where you will rest. This day is important for adjusting to the time zone and preparing both physically and mentally for the journey ahead.

Lemosho Gate to Mti-Mkubwa
Transfer to Lemosho Gate: After breakfast at Kinga Home, your journey begins with a transfer to Lemosho Gate for park registration. Here, you will be introduced to the Kilimanjaro National Park team, and your trek officially begins.
Trek to Mti Mkubwa Camp: The climb starts through lush rain-forest, with rich vegetation and a variety of wildlife surrounding you. The path is a steady ascent, offering the first glimpses of the mountain’s grandeur. After a few hours, you will arrive at Mti Mkubwa Camp (2,800 meters).
Overnight at Mti Mkubwa: Settle in at Mti Mkubwa Camp, where you will enjoy dinner and rest for the night under the starry African sky. This camp offers the perfect opportunity to adjust to the change in altitude.

Mti-Mkubwa to Shira 1 Camp
Ascend through Rainforest and Moorland: Begin your day with a steady hike through the dense rainforest, followed by a gradual transition into the moorland zone. The terrain becomes more open, and the first clear views of Kilimanjaro’s peak start to unfold.
Arrive at Shira 1 Camp (3,500 meters): After a few hours of hiking, you will reach Shira 1 Camp, situated at 3,500 meters. This area offers sweeping views of the mountain and surrounding landscapes, providing a perfect setting for acclimatization.
Overnight at Shira 1 Camp: Enjoy a warm meal at camp while taking in the beauty of the alpine environment. This will be a peaceful night spent at the base of Kilimanjaro, preparing for the challenges ahead.
Shira 1 Camp to Shira 2 Camp
Hike to Shira 2 Camp (3,900 meters): Today’s journey takes you across the Shira Plateau, with the landscape shifting into open plains dotted with volcanic rock formations. The route is slightly more challenging, but the stunning vistas make the effort worthwhile.
Acclimatization Walk: Upon reaching Shira 2 Camp, located at 3,900 meters, you’ll take part in an acclimatization walk. This short hike helps your body adjust to the altitude and prepares you for the higher elevations to come.
Overnight at Shira 2 Camp: Enjoy the evening at Shira 2 Camp, with ample time to relax and hydrate. The setting sun over the plateau offers incredible views, and the cool mountain air provides a restful night of sleep.

Shira 2 Camp to Baranco Tower Camp
Across the Plateau, Descend to Barranco Camp: Today’s trek is one of the most scenic. You will hike across the plateau before making a descent to Barranco Camp (3,950 meters), passing the famous Lava Tower. The landscape is otherworldly, with towering cliffs and volcanic rocks.
Overnight at Barranco Camp: Barranco Camp, situated below the imposing Barranco Wall, provides stunning panoramic views. This camp is also the first true test of your body’s acclimatization, as you descend to avoid altitude sickness and continue adjusting.

Baranco Tower to Karanga Camp
The Barranco Wall Challenge: After a hearty breakfast, begin your ascent of the Barranco Wall, a steep but rewarding climb. This part of the trek provides a sense of accomplishment as you navigate the rock faces and ledges, reaching the top of the wall to continue your journey.
Hike to Karanga Camp (4,035 meters): From the top of the Barranco Wall, the path levels out for a short but challenging trek to Karanga Camp, situated at 4,035 meters. Here, the atmosphere becomes more arid, and the landscape opens up to reveal vast stretches of alpine desert.
Overnight at Karanga Camp: After a fulfilling day, settle in at Karanga Camp for the night, resting for the climb to Barafu Camp tomorrow.

Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp
Ascend to Barafu Camp (4,640 meters): Today’s hike takes you to Barafu Camp, the base camp for your final summit push. As you gain altitude, the vegetation thins out, and the terrain becomes rocky and barren.
Prepare for Summit Day: Once at Barafu Camp, take time to rest, hydrate, and eat a nutritious meal. The evening will be spent preparing for the midnight summit attempt. The anticipation builds as the guides brief you on the climb ahead.
Overnight at Barafu Camp: Get some rest and ensure you are well-prepared for the long night ahead. The excitement of the summit attempt will make this night a bit different, but a peaceful sleep is crucial to tackle the challenge.
Summit-Day(Uhuru Peak) Descend to Mweka Camp
Summit Attempt – Uhuru Peak (5,895 meters): Your summit day begins around midnight, as you set off in the dark with headlamps illuminating the path. The trail is steep and demanding, but with determination and the guidance of your experienced team, you will ascend to Uhuru Peak, the roof of Africa, by sunrise.
Reach Uhuru Peak: Standing at 5,895 meters, you’ll experience the incredible sense of achievement and the unrivaled beauty of the surrounding landscapes. The views from the summit are breathtaking, offering a panoramic vista of the surrounding wilderness.
Descent to Mweka Camp (3,100 meters): After spending time at the summit, begin the long descent to Mweka Camp. The descent is much easier on the body, allowing you to reflect on your incredible achievement.
Overnight at Mweka Camp: After a long and rewarding day, rest at Mweka Camp, where you can celebrate with fellow climbers and the team who supported you throughout the journey.

Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate to Departure
Descend to Mweka Gate: After breakfast, descend through the forest to Mweka Gate, the final exit point from Kilimanjaro National Park. Here, you will receive your summit certificate as a token of your accomplishment.
Return to Kinga Home: Transfer back to Kinga Home for a celebratory dinner and a well-deserved rest. Reflect on the incredible adventure you’ve just completed.
Departure or Rest Day: Depending on your schedule, you may head to the airport for your departure, or enjoy an additional day of rest and exploration in Tanzania.
Notes:
The climb generally lasts 7 days, but the 8th day of arrival and departure gives you time to rest at Kinga Home before and after the trek.
