Your exciting 14-day self-drive safari in Namibia begins today! Upon arrival at the airport, a representative will meet you and transfer you to your accommodation in Windhoek. After checking in and settling in, your self-drive vehicle will be delivered to the hotel, where a thorough briefing on the vehicle and your travel route will take place. This ensures you're fully equipped and prepared for the adventure ahead.

Once the formalities are complete, you’ll have the rest of the evening to relax and enjoy Windhoek. Whether you choose to unwind at your accommodation or take a brief exploration of the city, the evening is yours to enjoy.

Day 2-3

The Kalahari Awaits

This morning, begin your journey from Windhoek to the Bagatelle Kalahari Game Ranch, a scenic three-hour drive. Along the way, you’ll enjoy stunning landscapes and cross the Tropic of Capricorn, so be sure to stop for a photo at the often photographed sign. Upon arrival at Bagatelle Kalahari Game Ranch, you’ll settle into your accommodation in the heart of the Kalahari.

On your first evening, you’ll have the chance to join a Cheetah Excursion and enjoy a scenic Sundowner, immersing yourself in the tranquil beauty of the region. The following morning, embark on a fascinating Bushman Walk, where you’ll follow the ancient trails of the indigenous people, learning about their culture and survival techniques.

On your final night, experience the thrill of a Night Drive, spotting nocturnal wildlife under the stars. The next day, you'll continue your adventure, heading towards the iconic dunes of Sossusvlei.

Day 4-5

Explore the famous Sossusvlei

Explore the famous Sossusvlei

After breakfast, check out and begin your journey southwest towards the iconic Sossusvlei. This four to five-hour drive offers the opportunity to stop at the Neuras Wine and Wildlife Estate, an oasis nestled on the edge of the Namib Desert, where you can relax and enjoy the unique surroundings.

Following this potential en-route stop, continue on to your destination, Desert Hills Lodge, located near Sossusvlei. After settling in, join a lodge-hosted afternoon nature drive to take in the vast desert landscape, with its stunning dunes and unique wildlife.

Be sure to get an early night, as the next morning, an early wake-up awaits for your visit to Sossusvlei and Deadvlei. Explore the Namib-Naukluft Park on an unguided basis, offering you the freedom to discover the awe-inspiring dunes and desert vistas at your own pace.

Optional activities that can be booked at an additional cost include a guided Sossusvlei and Deadvlei excursion or a Hot Air Balloon flight.

Day 6-7

The following morning, continue your journey along the gravel road for approximately an hour until you arrive at the quaint town of Solitaire. Here, you can enjoy some of their famous apple pie and a refreshing beverage. During the next three hours, you have interesting stops like Kuiseb Canyon and Vogberg.

Nestled in the heart of Swakopmund, you'll find the Atlantic Villa Boutique Hotel, located within easy walking distance of most attractions. Explore the interesting architecture, take a stroll along the pier, or savor delightful meals at the town's great restaurants and bars.

During your stay, prepare for some thrilling excursions. Enjoy a quad bike adventure through the dunes and set sail on a catamaran cruise in Walvis Bay. Observe the playful seals and majestic pelicans, and, if lucky, catch a glimpse of dolphins while sipping sparkling wine and indulging in locally sourced oysters.

Optional excursions include a drive to Sandwich Harbour (arranged at an extra cost).

Day 8-9

The next day, drive along the Skeleton Coast for an hour, stopping at the Zeila Shipwreck before heading to Hentiesbaai. From there, continue northeast for three hours towards Damaraland’s savannah plains and rocky outcrops.

Your accommodation, Twyfelfontein Adventure Camp, is nestled among granite boulders in the Huab River Valley, just 10 minutes from the Twyfelfontein Rock Engravings and within walking distance of the Damara Living Museum.

During your stay, explore the natural wonders of the region, including a guided Huab River Scenic Drive. This drive takes you through the desert region, home to Namibia’s desert-adapted elephants. Guides track the elephants by their footprints, offering the possibility of a rare opportunity to observe these majestic animals in their natural habitat. This experience supports conservation efforts, as the desert elephants are highly valued by the local Damara people, and tourism helps protect them.

Enhance your stay with a full-day game drive within the park where you'll discover its abundant wildlife, birdlife, and stunning scenery at your own pace. Today, you'll take a leisurely drive south, gradually making your way to Okojima Nature Reserve. Along your journey, you'll arrive in the charming town of Outjo. If you wish to take a break and enjoy a refreshing beverage, the Outjo Bakkery comes highly recommended.

Leaving the town, it's a drive of approximately one hour and thirty minutes to your final destination for two night nights, Okonjima Private Game Reserve. Here, you'll find not only luxury but also the promise of extraordinary wildlife encounters. In the afternoon, embark on a leopard tracking activity, savoring the splendors of Africa one final time. Whether you delight in birdwatching or marveling at the local wildlife, they offer it all. The next morning you will be able to embark on an extraordinary game drive and enjoy all the wildlife this reserve has to offer.

Regrettably, it's time to bid farewell to your safari as this is the final day. You have the option to go on your last morning game drive (additional cost) before embarking on an approximate three-hour drive to reach Hosea Kutako International Airport. Here, one of our staff members will meet you, complete the vehicle handover, and assist you with the check-in procedures. We recommend arriving at least three hours before your outbound flight.

If your schedule allows, you can explore Windhoek, the capital of Namibia. Should you wish to extend your stay in Windhoek for an extra night or go on an optional city tour, we can make these arrangements at an additional cost.
