Moshi – Nalemoru Gate (1950m) – Simba Camp (2620m)
After breakfast, embark on a 4-hour drive to Nalemoru Gate, the starting point of the Rongai Route. Register at the national park entrance, and then begin your trek through lush rainforest, teeming with wildlife, including Colobus monkeys and a variety of birds. The trek is gentle, making it a good introduction to the climb. Enjoy the beautiful forest surroundings as you gradually ascend to Simba Camp.

Simba Camp – Kikelewa Camp (3600m)
On this day, your trek takes you through the moorland zone, offering breathtaking views of Mount Kilimanjaro’s peak, Kibo, and the rugged Mawenzi peaks. The landscape is vast and open, with unique flora like heather and grasses. The terrain is relatively gentle but steadily ascends, providing you with ample opportunity to acclimatize. Reach Kikelewa Camp in the afternoon, where you'll spend the night.

Kikelewa Camp – Mawenzi Tarn Hut (4315m)
Today’s trek is a bit more challenging as you ascend towards Mawenzi Tarn Hut. The terrain becomes rockier as you enter the alpine desert zone, with stunning views of Mawenzi’s jagged peaks. The atmosphere is more barren, and the weather conditions change as you gain altitude. This day allows for acclimatization, ensuring your body adjusts to the thinner air. Relax at Mawenzi Tarn and enjoy the mesmerizing landscape.
Mawenzi Tarn Hut – Kibo Hut (4703m)
Cross the lunar-like saddle between Mawenzi and Kibo, where the landscape appears desolate and surreal. The trek to Kibo Hut is a significant part of your climb, and the winds can become harsh as you approach the saddle. Despite the challenging conditions, this is a key part of your preparation for the summit attempt. Reach Kibo Hut in the afternoon, where you'll rest and hydrate before the final push to the top.

Kibo Hut – Uhuru Peak (5895m) – Horombo Hut (3720m)
The summit day begins with a midnight wake-up call. The trek to Gilman’s Point on the crater rim is steep and grueling, with temperatures dropping as you gain altitude. After reaching Gilman’s Point, continue to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa, and take in the spectacular sunrise over the continent. Afterward, descend back to Kibo Hut for a short break, then continue down to Horombo Hut for a well-earned rest.
Horombo Hut – Marangu Gate (1860m) – Moshi Town
On the final day, descend through the lush rainforest, enjoying the cooler temperatures and dense vegetation. Upon reaching Marangu Gate, your climb concludes, and you'll receive your climbing certificate, depending on your summit success. A private transfer will take you back to Moshi, where you can relax, share stories of your adventure, and enjoy some free time before your departure or onward travel.
