Arrival in Arusha City

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and meet your guide. Transfer to your hotel in Arusha, where you can relax and acclimate. In the evening, you'll have a trek briefing with your team and a gear check to ensure you're fully prepared for the adventure ahead. This is your time to get comfortable before beginning your exciting Mount Meru climb.

Arusha to Miriakamba Hut (2514m)

After breakfast, drive to Arusha National Park and enter through the Momella Gate. Start your trek across the savannah plains, where you’ll have the chance to spot buffaloes, giraffes, and antelopes. As you hike through the dense montane forest, you’ll encounter wildlife like colobus monkeys and exotic birds. Finally, arrive at Miriakamba Hut, enjoying panoramic views of Mount Meru and the Momella Lakes.

Miriakamba Hut to Saddle Hut (3570m)

After an early breakfast, begin your trek through the steep forest trails toward Saddle Hut. Along the way, you’ll pass the “Elephant Back” ridge, offering dramatic views. Once at Saddle Hut, enjoy lunch and a chance to rest. For acclimatization, an optional hike to Little Meru (3,820m) offers spectacular sunset views of Mount Meru and the surrounding area.

Summit-Day (4566m) & Descent to Miriakamba

Wake up early for the challenging summit attempt. After a light snack, begin the ascent through rocky terrain and narrow ridges. Pass Rhino Point (3,800m) and Cobra Point (4,350m), before making the final push to Socialist Peak (4,566m) in time for sunrise. Enjoy stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro, the Great Rift Valley, and the surrounding landscapes from the summit. After taking memorable summit photos, begin your descent back to Saddle Hut for a well-deserved brunch. Then continue your descent through lush forests back to Miriakamba Hut. This day combines the triumph of reaching the summit with the reward of breathtaking views, making it a highlight of the entire trek.

Miriakamba to Arusha City

After a restful night at Miriakamba Hut, descend through the lush montane forests, enjoying the serene beauty of the surroundings. As you reach the base of the mountain at Momella Gate, you’ll be greeted with the satisfaction of completing your trek. Afterward, you'll transfer back to Arusha City, where you can relax and reflect on your adventure. This day marks the conclusion of your Mount Meru climb, with a scenic journey back to the city to unwind and celebrate your achievement.
