Fly to Bahir Dar, Visit Monasteries & Blue Nile

In Bahir Dar on Lake Tana, the source of the Blue Nile. The afternoon is spent visiting isolated monasteries by boat. There is good birding in the lush forest surrounding much of the lake. Then, you will drive to the thundering Blue Nile Falls. Along the walk to the falls, birding is excellent.

Drive to Gondar Visit Castel & Debrebirhan Selassie

In the morning, after breakfast, you'll drive to Gonder for 3 hrs. In the afternoon, you'll enjoy a city tour of Gondar, including a visit to the Royal Compound, where enchanting 17th-century castles stand. Also you will visit Debre Berhan Selassie Church, meaning Trinity at the Mount of Light.

Gondar - Sankaber - Trek to Simien Mountain

You'll drive from Gondar to Sankaber with a brief stop at the Simien Mountains National Park headquarters to arrange the permit. Today's trek covers a distance of approximately 12 km and takes around 5-6 hours. You will meet the friendly gelada baboons foraging in big groups. A stunning viewpoint at the Jinbar Falls is reached after clambering over a few rocks. This waterfall plunges several hundred meters down the escarpment into the abyss. At the end of the day, you'll pass through the welcoming village of Gich, where the local people are happy to prepare a well-deserved coffee.
Your overnight camping will be at Simien Mountain.

Hike to Geech & Drive back to Gondar

Today is the most spectacular stage of the trek, offering stunning views all the way. You'll hike 5-6 hours, including a short detour to Imet Gogo (3925 m). This summit offers the most exciting views. The giant lobelia is abundant on the Geech plateau. The majestically lammergeyer might soar the skies in front of you, and the endemic thick billed raven will be present. In the afternoon, you will drive back to Gondar.
