Tarangire National park
Our Rumi Safari guide will pick you up from your accommodation after breakfast. This morning, you will drive to Tarangire National Park, which is approximately a two and a half-hour trip. The park is named after the Tarangire River that flows through it. This river, often referred to as the "river of warthogs," is the only source of water for wildlife in the region during the dry season.
Tarangire National Park is famous for its large elephant families, which are often seen congregating by the river. You may also spot giraffes, bushbucks, and hartebeests. These animals coexist with various predators, including lions and leopards. Additionally, Tarangire boasts the highest number of breeding bird species found anywhere on Earth! The park is also home to enormous and ancient Baobab trees, some of which are believed to be over a thousand years old.
Lunch will be served at a picnic site within the park. After your game drive, you will return to your accommodation near the park.

Lake Manyara National park
After breakfast, you will drive to Lake Manyara National Park, which is small yet incredibly diverse. The park presents a unique contrast; it is both compact (one of the narrowest parks in Africa) and magnificent, with the Great Rift Escarpment rising dramatically along its western boundary. The park's namesake is a shallow, saltwater lake that spans a large area and fluctuates with the seasons, attracting thousands of wading birds, including flamingos and over 500 other bird species.
As you explore, you may encounter baboons and elephants in the park's lush evergreen forest, and keep an eye out for the famous tree-climbing lions that have captured the attention of visitors across Africa.
After a full day in the park, you will have a short drive to your accommodation in Karatu.

Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, you will drive up to the cooler regions of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. There will be an opportunity to stop and admire the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater. Afterward, you will continue your journey through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area to the Serengeti, entering from the south.
The Serengeti is truly remarkable and famous for its vast open grasslands, which provide excellent wildlife viewing opportunities. While it is home to a diverse array of wildlife, it is best known for the annual Great Migration. Each year, large herds of wildebeest, zebra, and antelope move in search of fresh grazing. The migration can be observed throughout the year; you just need to know where to look!

Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast, you will drive from Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Crater.
When you first arrive at Ngorongoro Crater, it feels like stepping into a forgotten world. Surrounded by steep volcanic walls lies a pristine wilderness, featuring sweeping savannahs, pockets of acacia woodlands, and shimmering lakes and swamps. The crater was formed two to three million years ago when a large volcano erupted and subsequently collapsed.
The drive down into the crater is an adventure in itself. Once you reach the crater floor, you'll quickly encounter large numbers of wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, and over 500 species of birds. The crater offers the best opportunity to see the endangered black rhino, which can sometimes be spotted in the open grasslands.
After a full afternoon exploring the crater, you will head to your accommodation in Kitela for dinner and an overnight stay.
