In the morning, your guide and support crew will meet you at the hotel for a briefing, after which you’ll travel by vehicle to Machame Gate (1,800m), the entrance to Kilimanjaro National Park. After obtaining climbing permits and registering with the search and rescue service, you’ll begin your trek to Machame Camp (3,010m). The route passes through the rainforest, so be prepared for tropical showers and bring extra clothes and a raincoat.
This will be your first day at high altitude, so we recommend the following:
Avoid alcohol and caffeine
Drink over 4 liters of water daily, in small amounts
Take Diamox (consult your doctor beforehand)
You may experience discomfort from the altitude, such as headaches or nausea due to reduced oxygen. Pay attention to your body and inform your guide if you feel unwell.

Later, you'll embark on an acclimatization hike towards Lava Tower Camp (4,120m), gaining 300 meters in altitude. After descending, you'll enjoy a hot dinner.
