Day 1

Entebbe to Kibale National park

We're as excited as you are to get started on your Ugandan safari. Your guide will meet you at your hotel and after introductions and a few brief formalities, it's time to start your journey, after leaving Entebbe we pass through rural Uganda seeing small villages and farms and tea plantations, and eventually come to Kibale Forest National Park and your accommodation Isunga Lodge. You can now relax at the lodge or there is an optional guided walk in the community surrounding the lodge.

Day 2

Chimpanzee Tracking

Today, we enter the prime chimpanzee country of Kibale National Park. This immense forest is renowned for its rich diversity of primates, but it is chimps – humankind's closest genetic relative – that top the wish list of most visitors. After an early breakfast, we arrive at the chimp tracking start point inside the forest where we meet our wildlife ranger and we set off on our adventure to find the chimps. When the chimps are located there is a 97% success rate) you will get to spend 1 hour with them observing their interactions and behaviours.

That afternoon after lunch you have a choice of a guided walk at Bigodi Swamp which offers fantastic bird and monkey viewing or guided walk in the Crater Lake area close by the lodge walking around lakes with fantastic views and observing and learning about the local communities and the way of life of the people living there.

Day 3

Journey To Gorillas

Journey To Gorillas

Today you will have a scenic drive through diverse landscapes as you travel towards the home of the mountain gorillas. Viewed as you approach the park boundary, the forested mountainsides of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park stand in magnificent contrast to the surrounding cultivated hills. Once inside the park, expect a sensory overload of sounds, smells and sights you could only experience in a pristine African jungle. Even without any wildlife, Bwindi would be an amazing place to visit, but the presence of a diverse forest fauna – most notably the endangered mountain gorilla but also 10 other primate and 350 bird species – has made this Unesco World Heritage Site one of Africa's undisputed top destinations.

After arrival you will relax at the lodge for the rest of the afternoon, or take an optional short walk around the village on the edge of the forest.

Day 4

Gorilla Tracking and Lake Bunyonyi

Gorilla Tracking and Lake Bunyonyi

Gorilla trekking has gained international recognition as one of the most thrilling wildlife experiences on the planet. Uganda’s dense jungles and mist-covered mountains provide the perfect backdrop for this unforgettable adventure. This morning we leave early and drive to the gorilla tracking start point where you will be given a short briefing before you enter the forest.

You walk through the tropical forest with an experienced local guide to find a family of habituated gorillas. Once found you can spend 1 hour observing the group watching its family interactions as they feed. Making eye contact with a wild gorilla is one of natures greatest experiences.

After gorilla tracking we drive to Lake Bunyonyi (around 1.5 hours) where you can spend the rest of the day relaxing and enjoying the beautiful views across the lake. There is also an optional activity of a boat trip on the lake.

Day 5

Return To Entebbe

Return To Entebbe

After breakfast, check out of the lodge. You will begin your journey to Entebbe with a stopover along the way for lunch at the Equator where you will have the opportunity to take photographs and purchase some souvenirs. After your lunch, you will continue to Entebbe and be dropped off at your chosen hotel or at Entebbe airport.
