Arrival in Masai Mara National Reserve and Game Drive

Your safari begins with a pick-up from Nairobi's Jomo Kenyatta International Airport or your Nairobi hotel. After a warm welcome from your driver-guide, you will embark on a scenic 5 to 6-hour drive to the Masai Mara. Along the way, you will pass through the Great Rift Valley and small towns, providing a glimpse into local life. After a refreshment stop, you will continue your journey to the Mara.

Upon arrival, check in at Rhino Tourist Camp and enjoy a delicious lunch before heading out for your first exciting game drive. The Mara is renowned for its wildlife diversity, including the Big Five—lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard and rhino. The vast plains are also home to cheetahs, giraffes, zebras and numerous bird species. Your expert guide will provide insights into the local ecosystem.

After the game drive, return to the camp for a relaxing evening. Enjoy a traditional safari dinner while taking in the scenic views and spend the night surrounded by the sounds of the African bush.

Morning Game Drive and Departure

Wake up early for an exhilarating game drive. The cooler hours are the best time to spot predators like lions and hyenas, which are most active during these hours. The early light offers fantastic photo opportunities as the savannah comes to life. This drive allows for a deeper connection with the wilderness and increases your chances of encountering the Mara's iconic wildlife.

After the game drive, return to your lodge for a delicious breakfast. You also have the option to visit a Maasai village, where you can learn about their traditions, observe dances, visit homes and purchase locally made crafts. After this experience, enjoy a late brunch before checking out of your lodge.

Your guide will assist with a smooth check-out and help with your luggage as you begin the journey back to Nairobi. After a brief stop for refreshments, you will arrive in Nairobi by late afternoon or early evening. You will be dropped off at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport if you have a return flight.
