Ngorongoro Crater
After an early breakfast, you will journey to the Ngorongoro Crater, descending on a steep, narrow road. The landscape starts off forested, gradually transforming into savannah dotted with acacia trees. The wildlife here is truly spectacular, and with a bit of luck, you might spot the Big Five—lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard. The crater also hosts warthogs, wildebeests, zebras, hippos, hyenas, and many other species. After an exciting morning of game viewing and a picnic lunch, you will leave the crater in the afternoon and return to your campsite for an overnight stay.

The Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest volcanic caldera, formed by the explosive eruption of a volcano that was once taller than Kilimanjaro, around 2 to 3 million years ago. The crater spans 304 km², is 600 meters deep, and has a diameter of 20 km.

Tarangire National Park
In the morning, you will begin your safari with a drive to Tarangire National Park. Covering an area of about 2,600 km², the park is roughly the size of Luxembourg. The landscape is characterized by bush savannah, seasonal swamps, and iconic giant baobab trees. Known as one of the best places in East Africa to observe elephants, Tarangire offers incredible wildlife sightings. From the open roof of your safari vehicle, you will be able to enjoy watching these majestic creatures, along with other fascinating animals, and take in the stunning scenery.
In addition to elephants, Tarangire is home to Maasai giraffes, various species of gazelles, antelopes, buffaloes, lions, leopards, baboons, and over 500 bird species. After a thorough game drive, you'll leave the park and head back to Arusha, reflecting on the amazing wildlife and landscapes you've encountered.
