Welcome to Tanzania’s northern circuit! Welcome to Arusha, the “Geneva of Africa!”

Your safari adventure begins in Arusha, the gateway to Tanzania’s northern safari circuit. Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, a Somewhere in Africa Safari guide will meet you. You’ll then board a vehicle and head to Arusha for dinner and your overnight stay.

After checking into your accommodations, you’ll have time to freshen up and have an African meal. Following dinner, you will retire to your room for some rest and relaxation, giving you the opportunity to discover how incredible it is to spend a night in Africa.

Day 2

Arusha - Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, your safari guide will meet you at the lodge for a briefing, followed by a two-hour drive to Tarangire National Park. Tarangire is an ideal place for wildlife viewing on Tanzania's northern circuit and should be on your bucket list if you want to see wildlife. Large herds of elephant are abundant here.

Hundreds of animals gather on the Tarangire River's banks to drink water. This is a great location for breathtaking game drives, particularly during the dry season, which runs from mid-June to October. Tarangire's magnificent scenery is filled with ancient baobab trees. After the game drive you will drive to the lodge in Karatu for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 3

Tarangire National Park - Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast at your lodge, you will drive to the Ngorongoro Crater for a tour. Known as Eden's Garden, the Ngorongoro Crater is an iconic location for game drives and is the perfect place to spot the “Big Five.” Upon reaching the crater rim, your crater tour will begin. As you descend, you’ll witness magnificent landscapes formed millions of years ago by volcanic eruptions. The crater is a self-sustaining ecosystem where animals coexist without the need to travel long distances in search of food.

You’ll enjoy a picnic lunch near the hippo pool, allowing you to dine on the crater floor. After lunch, you’ll embark on an afternoon game drive, searching for more birds and wildlife.

Following the game drive, you will ascend the crater and head to the camp for dinner and your overnight stay.

Today, you will enjoy a full-day game drive in the Serengeti. For those looking to make the most of their safari experience, you can opt for an early morning balloon ride before your regular game drive. This provides an up-close view of the animals from above.

After breakfast, you'll embark on a full-day wildlife drive in the Serengeti's "Seronera" region. The central Serengeti is famous for excellent game drives, and if you’re lucky, glimpses of big cats, often within just a few hours.

You’ll enjoy a picnic lunch at one of the Serengeti’s picnic locations while admiring the vast grasslands. The afternoon will offer more game viewing to look for extra wildlife. After the game drive, you'll transfer to the camp for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 5

Breakfast will be served early in the morning, followed by a trip to the northern area of the park. Upon arrival at the airstrip, you’ll have some time for a game drive en route to the lodge, where you’ll enjoy a hearty lunch. After lunch, you can unwind and relax before embarking on an afternoon game drive.

In the afternoon, you’ll drive along the banks of the Mara River, keeping an eye out for a wildebeest crossing. The presence of hundreds of ungulates often attracts predators nearby, and if you're lucky, you may witness predator-prey interactions during your game drive. After your game drive, you’ll return to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 6

Today will be spent observing the spectacular Great Wildebeest Migration and the Mara River crossing. As the wildebeest make their long journey from the Serengeti to Kenya's Masai Mara National Reserve for the mating season, they are accompanied by other species such as zebras, impalas, and gazelles.

After breakfast, you'll embark on a full-day game drive along the Mara River. If you're fortunate, you’ll be able to see the Mara River crossing event, where hundreds of wildebeest brave the crocodile-infested waters en route to the Mara.

In the afternoon, you’ll have a picnic lunch before heading out for another game drive to look for more wildlife. Afterward, you’ll return to the camp for dinner and your overnight stay.
