1-Day Mt Kilimanjaro via Marangu Day Hike

Arusha - Kinapa Marangu Gate(1860m) – Hike to Mandara Hut(2700m) – Waterfalls - Arusha.
Hiking time: 3-6 hours Up and down
Distance: 8km/5mi
Habitat: Montane Forest
Pick up from Arusha Palace Hotel at 06h00 from Arusha town and drive to the Kilimanjaro National Park Gate (about 2 hours), register and commence the climb. Walk through the rainforest to the Mandara encampment. A side trip to Maundi Crater is a good way to see the surroundings including Northern Tanzania and Kenya. In the rainforest, look for towering Eucalyptus trees, bird life, and Colobus monkeys. Hike at your own pace and enjoy a picnic lunch under the open sky along the way.
It’s a moderate hike and you don’t need to be an athlete to be able to enjoy it. Later we drive the short distance to Marangu mtoni village where we begin our short 20-minute hike to Waterfall and drive back to Arusha and drop off at Palace Hotel.
