Day 1

Gondar – Sankaber Camp

Gondar – Sankaber Camp

We will meet you in the morning at Gondar Airport or your hotel in Gondar.

Our journey begins with a scenic drive from Gondar to Debark, the administrative headquarters of the Simien Mountains National Park. Upon arrival, we will stop to obtain the necessary permits for park entry and meet our local scout who will accompany us throughout the trek.

During our visit to Debark, we can enjoy a tea and coffee break, and if time permits, we will explore the local market. The market operates daily, with larger markets taking place every Wednesday and Saturday, offering a vibrant glimpse into the daily life of the locals.

From Debark, we will continue our drive to the park entrance, located about 16 kilometers from the town. Once we reach the national park gate, we will begin our trek.

We will continue our trek to Sankaber Camp, where we will set up camp for the first night, surrounded by the beauty of the Simien Mountains.
