You will be collected from your hotel at approximately 8:00 AM and taken to Lemosho Gate, located on the western side of Mount Kilimanjaro. After completing the necessary registration, we will commence our ascent, gradually climbing through the lush Lemosho Glades. This picturesque route meanders through vibrant rainforests, providing stunning views and opportunities to observe unique wildlife. As you trek deeper into the forest, the air becomes crisper, and the path gradually inclines. After a fulfilling day of hiking, we will reach Big Tree Camp, where you can relax for the night, enveloped by the tranquil sounds of nature. This marks the beginning of your unforgettable adventure on Kilimanjaro.

Big Tree Camp to Shira 2 Camp
Today, you will cover significant ground as you trek across a plateau characterized by grassy moorland and heather interspersed with volcanic rock formations. We will pass through Shira 1 Camp, where you may catch glimpses of Kibo Peak rising above the clouds as we make our way toward Shira 2. The ascent will involve a notable increase in altitude, with some sections of the trail being quite steep.
As you continue toward Shira 2, you'll have the opportunity to see the Northern Ice Fields from the western side of the mountain, along with unique perspectives of Kibo. Our steady climb across the expansive Shira Plateau will aid in acclimatization, and you'll be rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views throughout the journey.

Shira 2 Camp to Barranco Camp
Your trek begins with an ascent that offers expansive panoramic views as you enter the climatic zone of the upland desert, traversing lava ridges beneath the glaciers of the Western Breach. You will reach the iconic Lava Tower (4,640 m), our highest point for the day, which provides an excellent spot to enjoy your lunch.
In the afternoon, we will descend steeply to our campsite for the night, located at the base of the Great Barranco Valley (3,960 m). This campsite is sheltered by towering cliffs while offering sweeping views of the plains below.

Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp
Our day begins with a descent into the expansive Great Barranco, a vast ravine. We will then tackle the steep ascent up the Great Barranco Wall, which separates us from the southeastern slopes of Kibo. This climb involves navigating rocky terrain; while it is not technical, it can be long and exhausting. As we pass beneath the Heim and Kersten glaciers, we will make our way toward the Karanga Valley.
From there, we will ascend steeply from the Karanga Valley to our campsite for the night at Karanga Camp, situated at 3,963 meters. For those who feel up to it, we will embark on a mid-afternoon acclimatization trek to approximately 4,200 meters before returning to camp for the evening.

Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp
After a restful night and a hearty breakfast, we will begin our trek to Barafu Camp at 4,640 meters. The journey will take us across barren scree slopes devoid of vegetation, presenting a challenging and steep ascent that is made more difficult by the altitude. Upon reaching the camp, we will enjoy a meal and spend the afternoon resting in preparation for the long night and day ahead. Staying hydrated and warm is essential during this time. We will have an early dinner before attempting to get some sleep, as we will need to rise between 11:00 PM and 12:00 AM to start our climb to the summit.

Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak to Millenium Camp
We begin our ascent around midnight, climbing steeply toward the summit glaciers. The trek through the scree will last approximately 4 to 5 hours, allowing us to gain significant elevation over a short distance, with spectacular views along the way. We aim to reach the crater rim at Stella Point (5,739 m) just as the first rays of sunlight illuminate the landscape. Surrounded by stunning ice cliffs within the crater, you will be treated to breathtaking views of the jagged Mawenzi Peak and beyond.
After another hour of walking, we will arrive at Uhuru Peak (5,895 m), the highest point on Kilimanjaro. Following our celebration at the summit, we will begin our descent by returning to Stella Point and then making our way down the scree slope back to Barafu Camp for breakfast. Finally, we will continue our descent to Millennium Camp, where you can enjoy a long, well-deserved rest.

Millenium Camp to Mweka Gate to Arusha
After an early breakfast at Millennium Camp (3,790 m), you'll begin your descend toward Mweka Gate (1,630 m), traversing lush rainforests along the way. This trek offers beautiful views and a chance to reflect on your incredible journey. Upon reaching Mweka Gate, you'll complete your climb registration and receive congratulations for your achievement. Enjoy a well-deserved packed lunch and take some time to relax and refresh yourself. Afterward, you will drive back to your hotel in Arusha, where a warm shower and a delicious dinner await you. It’s the perfect way to celebrate the successful completion of your Kilimanjaro adventure.
