You’ll be met at Lamu’s Manda Airport (LAU) and transferred by speedboat to the Tusitiri Dhow at her mooring.
This traditional wooden sailing boat, originally built for carrying exotic spices and goods along the Indian Ocean trade routes, has been meticulously restored and converted. She is a majestic and luxurious vessel perfectly equipped and crewed for your marine safari in the Lamu archipelago in Kenya. Tusitiri is chartered for the exclusive use of your family or group of friends (minimum 6 to 10 maximum). The Dhow is exclusively yours.
Life on-board is relaxed and centered on Tusitiri’s broad deck. Sumptuous cushioned seating areas are set up on both sides of the deck by day, and at night, brass lanterns light up the deck with luxury bedrolls (mattresses, white linen, duvets, and pillows) set up. On Tusitiri, all the beds are star-beds! These double or single bed arrangements are separated by day cushions to act as partitions and provide privacy.

Sumptuous Cuisine & Adventure
Local cuisine meals are prepared by your crew in the open-air galley kitchen at the bow, and served in the shaded dining area. There are beautiful views over the ocean, quiet corners to relax, and the day-cabins below deck provide storage and changing facilities.
Sailing will be along white sandy beaches fringed with palm and acacia trees; turquoise waters teeming with marine life, curved and shaped by mangrove forests. The archipelago is unspoilt and has become known as a world-renowned fishing, cultural and historical marine ‘Mecca’.
Although quiet and seemingly forgotten, the archipelago has welcomed travelers for over a thousand years and is steeped in history. You'll visit Lamu Town - the oldest living town in East Africa, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
It’s the perfect holiday for water-sports enthusiasts, with everything included in the rates – from waterskiing, tubing, and deep-sea fishing to sailing and stand-up paddle-boarding.
