Depart from Arusha to Tarangire for wildlife safaris, and Overnight Karatu

Tarangire National Park – elephants and baobabs on measure – 135km
Early in the morning, after a tasty breakfast, we drive to Tarangire National Park. The drive will take about 2 hours and will give us a good picture of the rural region in Tanzania. Tarangire is famous for its large numbers of elephants and the peculiar baobab trees. The life-giving Tarangire River meanders through the savannah-like park landscape. Many animals gather on the river and allow excellent game viewing. In addition to a large number of elephants, the park is also home to giraffes, bushbuck, buffalo, zebras, wildebeest and much more. Sightings of predators such as lions, leopards and hyenas are always possible. From the open roof of the jeep we can enjoy the landscape and observe the wildlife.
After a full day in the park, we drive to the superbly equipped lodge in Karatu, where we have dinner in the aesthetically appealing restaurant. Overnight at the Eileen’s Trees Inn (B|L|D).

Ngorongoro crater tour
Very early in the morning, after an early breakfast, we drive to the world natural heritage site Ngorongoro. Inside the huge crater we have a day to observe wildlife in one of the most fascinating places on earth. Here the animals roam freely through the non-fenced reserves. Enjoy a day of unparalleled game viewing. The Ngorongoro Crater and the surrounding highlands together form one of the most beautiful regions in Africa. Volcanic craters create a breath-taking backdrop for some of the most fertile and richest pastures in Africa. The most famous crater of this type is without question Ngorongoro, the largest intact volcanic caldera on earth and is home to the highest density of large game in Africa. Ngorongoro is rightly one of the most famous safari destinations on the continent. After a break for our delicious picnic near the hippopotamus lake and further game viewing in the afternoon, we will drive up the steep road out of the crater to drive to Arusha.
